It's getting to be a common thing now during the Lvl 24 Strikes that I see these kids race as fast as they can through the Strike usually hopping on their speeder bypassing the first several mobs of lower level enemies which is fine but then they continue on and bypass as many of the Lvl 24 enemies as they can just to get to the final boss quicker.
Why? The boss gives you nothing and your chances of getting anything worthwhile from the end game roll are poor odds for the amount of time it takes to complete each Strike. Your best shot of getting a Legendary Engram drop or at least multiple blue Engrams to give you a chance at Legendary gear and to rank up the Cryptarch is to kill every Lvl 24 enemy up to the boss because that is where all of my Legendary Engrams have come from and I get at least half of my blue Engrams from Mob drops to go along with what I get in the end game roll.
The Lvl 24 Tiger Strikes since the last patch appear to have a higher drop rate than the normal game modes at least in the areas you're facing Lvl 24 enemies, and so bypassing them to finish the Strike faster is just decreasing your chance of getting multiple drops. There's little other reason to be grinding Lvl 24 Strikes in that manner because you can earn Vanguard rep faster farming Patrols, Vanguard Marks faster farming Public Events, and if you need a bunch of Strikes for a Bounty run the Lvl 8 Devil's Lair on Earth and get them done quick.
So don't be that guy that runs way out ahead of everyone else. Don't waste you and your teammates chances for more Legendary/Exotic drops. It doesn't take but an extra 5 minutes or so to clear out all the Lvl 24 enemies your bypassing between you and the Boss when you do it as a group.

If you're doing the strike to finish a bounty, which seems to happen a lot, then it doesn't make any sense to fight all the little guys.
-
The way I see it... Rush the lvl 24 strikes kill boss get legendary gear... Only kill adds for ammo. If you spend a hour fighting level 15s I will leave you in the dust. More vanguard marks, better gear, and less time spent killing every drake hiding around every corner. I got 2 legendary and 1 exotic from 4 strikes this week...I finished the VoG before you finish killing adds there's a problem. If you want to mine goto cosmodrome for 6 hours...rush and win. Cry because you can't rush.

Did 5 speed runs yesterday and on the 4th upon defeating the boss I got the last word. You do get engrams along the way but I usually only get 1 blue engram along the way and then 2-4 upon completion of the raid so in my opinion it's better to speed run it for the roll at the end. The extra time spent to pick everyone off along the way isn't worth it for 1 blue and a few green engrams. Of course maybe I'm just unlucky with the blue drops. After those 5 strikes I turned in about 18 rare engrams and 1 turned out to be legendary.

So I got an exotic bounty that required me to complete 25 strikes these that rush the strikes were the best type of people to roll with I did 10 one day and 15 the next The point is Some people have a reason to rush even though you may not.
-
I don't see strikes as the place to try and get loot via farming mobs, that's easier done in patrol... Most would rather just get the strike done and over with, not everyone can sit there for an hour farming mobs in the strike, and then sit there for another hour trying to make the boss dead. Most people find it easier to just farm the reputation anyway, rather then relying on loot drops for their gear.
-
Some of us are doing strikes solely for exotic bounties. Aka Tolands Legacy. Not everyone is in there to farm.
-
I hate when I am matched with people like you, sorry. i do ALL the work, while your behind, killing lvl 17 enemies, that are not even part of the strike....by the time i have the boss down to half, you finally show up. I just found out if I die, you all get teleported to me.....so what i do now is race ahead, and die on purpose, then everyone gets sent to my check point. Be prepared to be moved, forcefully if need be bra.

For me it all depends on the random ppl I strike with. Devils Lair for example. With 3 ppl it takes what, 10 sec to wipe out initial waves? I dunno. When I spawn at the beginning I'll make a go at them. If my two teammates don't feel like shooting them for free XP and zoom by me on their speeder, fine. I get it. I'll jump on mine and follow them also. Farming XP is what Patrol is for. And ppl that need to get the 25 strikes challenge, I get it. Rush. 9/10 times I usually end up with the most strike kills and assists. Stop and smell the cannon fodder ppl. It generates motes of light.

Edited by Muppetyed: 10/6/2014 4:15:47 PMrushing through a strike doesn't waste everyone's time though because they're first to boss

I agree with ya, but as I have read below, some are there for exotic bounties among other things. Personally, I can rush by the enemies that aren't in the strike, but after that kill em all. Better chance for loot and such, as I do see a higher drop rate of loot in the Strikes. Even so, some people just need bounties done. And, though it really isn't hard for me, some people can't get a Fireteam together to assist them to their liking. It's really to each their own. Fly by the enemies that aren't leveled to the strike, kill all that are with the strike. That's how I see it.
-
I can see skipping the low levels adds but once you get to the level 24 ones that is where you should stop, especially at the no re-spawn point.

Wow the children in here are thick. Sorry didn't realize I was in the day care forum, I'll go back to where the adults converse like adults.

Edited by RubberBunny: 10/6/2014 2:34:56 PMWith the addition of Engrams as rewards, you're now 100% incorrect. Statistically speaking, IE if you actually do the math, you get more engrams from the mission reward than if you kill everything. Case in point, yesterday I got 12 engrams (Not counting Greens). Did 4 strikes. Had 1 blue engram drop in the strike. The rest were rewards. Had a total of 37 engrams. 15 green. 10 blue. 2 purple. 2 legendary engrams were rewards. 9 blue were rewards. 15 green dropped in the mission. 1 blue dropped in the mission. If you want to farm for greens, do it on your own time.

Edited by Hodgey: 10/6/2014 3:48:00 PMThe chances of those enemies dropping a legendary are low and I dont think I've ever seen it happen. I race ahead to get it done as quick as possible to get the marks which could buy me the legendaries that haven't dropped yet.

Being able to talk to other while great in theroy is crap in practice. Mainly because peoples egos get in the way. Heh just read some of the post in this forum is s good indication of how people would act if they could talk to eachother. Also it might be a good idea to let the others know what your intentions are before going into a strike. Mainly because it makes you look like a non team player, which could come back and bite you.
Don't be that guy. Don't waste everyones time.
Don't be the guy who just sits in a corner of the boss room waiting for us to kill him for you because we'll just sit with you and enjoy the scenery until you leave/kill the boss on your own once you realise we won't help you
-
And the award to most idiotic statement ever goes to... (drum roll please) YOU!
-
Most people I know play the strikes for the vanguard marks and rep points. Which will always guarantee a legendary. So we try to speed run the strike to get through it. Anything else we get along the way is just a bonus.
-
The Lvl 24 Strikes have a higher drop rate than the normal game modes, at least in the Spawn Restricted areas
I doubt that's the truth. Also the other day I sped run some strikes and you actually get more engrams this way than if you farmed the loot cave lol, I could easily get 20 blue engrams an hour and for the time we did this, I got 3 legendary engrams from end game rolls. And keep in mind, they lowered the general drop rates to compensate for the fact that every purple turns legendary
-
I'm with the people here who say you are wrong. Only reason to kill extras is for ammo. Other than that just speed run it
-
I have only ever seen one person in my fire team get 2 blue engrams. The other 2 members either get one blue engram and one rare item or 2 rare items. To use septic as an example. I race to get to the first part where the entrance is blocked. I kill everything else after that point. I am only a lvl 28. It takes me by myself very little time to kill the low level guys if I choose. So either way I am not too far behind players who rush anyways. 9 times out of 10 I find myself getting there just in time to revive them because they rushed and the other members did not. Play how you want it doesn't matter to me. Sometimes I rush. Sometimes I don't.
-
If u wanna kill lvl 6 dregs when we started a lvl 24 strike; I'll see u at the first wave of lvl 24 hive 15 min after I killed them all. Sorry if you think taking 45 min on a strike is normal. I'm out in 20 min. Usually with a legendary too...
-
Keep up or shut up
-
I don't know which strikes you are playing that let you rush through the respawn restricted areas? (As you already admitted that area has the best drop rate). Every single strike has at least one, if not several, moments where you must clear wave after wave to open a door as your ghost slowly works his way through opening the next area. So could you please elaborate on what da faque you're actually mad about? Sorry, I didn't get level 28 to kill level 12 monsters, or maybe you're just mad because you're actually just water trash at the game and looking to blame it on 'everyone goes too fast wahhh'
-
i totally agree.
