It's getting to be a common thing now during the Lvl 24 Strikes that I see these kids race as fast as they can through the Strike usually hopping on their speeder bypassing the first several mobs of lower level enemies which is fine but then they continue on and bypass as many of the Lvl 24 enemies as they can just to get to the final boss quicker.
Why? The boss gives you nothing and your chances of getting anything worthwhile from the end game roll are poor odds for the amount of time it takes to complete each Strike. Your best shot of getting a Legendary Engram drop or at least multiple blue Engrams to give you a chance at Legendary gear and to rank up the Cryptarch is to kill every Lvl 24 enemy up to the boss because that is where all of my Legendary Engrams have come from and I get at least half of my blue Engrams from Mob drops to go along with what I get in the end game roll.
The Lvl 24 Tiger Strikes since the last patch appear to have a higher drop rate than the normal game modes at least in the areas you're facing Lvl 24 enemies, and so bypassing them to finish the Strike faster is just decreasing your chance of getting multiple drops. There's little other reason to be grinding Lvl 24 Strikes in that manner because you can earn Vanguard rep faster farming Patrols, Vanguard Marks faster farming Public Events, and if you need a bunch of Strikes for a Bounty run the Lvl 8 Devil's Lair on Earth and get them done quick.
So don't be that guy that runs way out ahead of everyone else. Don't waste you and your teammates chances for more Legendary/Exotic drops. It doesn't take but an extra 5 minutes or so to clear out all the Lvl 24 enemies your bypassing between you and the Boss when you do it as a group.

REPORTING ANY UNHELPFUL PLAYER To many times have I had to wait on A holes blaming killing all the the trash mobs instead of focusing on downing the boss. Man so -blAming annoying I'll be reporting any one who takes their time clearing a strike cause they don't play the way I want them too!!!
-
I will usually pass the low level dudes at the start of devil's lair, but once you get in the tunnels everything lv 24 and up is dead. If you are on xbox1 add me. Gt: frozenrican

Here's your logic in a nutshell: Take 30 minutes to kill every mob plus the boss for one strike. Slightly higher chance of engram drop because of it, but you give no solid evidence that they will in fact drop what you claim. I understand the higher chance rate, but there is no conclusive evidence to back your statement, nor does it guarantee you will end up with more rare/legendary engrams for killing irrelevant enemies. Now here's the counter-argument: You take 30 minutes on a single strike with no guarantees on X amount of engrams, finish the strike and are rewarded with 2 rare engrams or items. Now in that same time, I speed run and can finish almost 3 strikes in that same period of time. If you've been following along, that equals 6 rare (or better) items that I WILL be getting. When I speed run I still have to kill the level 24 boss mobs and there are a ton of enemies... Multiply that by 3 and the answer will show you that you're undoubtably a moron for making a thread to cry about ppl you are matched with because you fail to have 2 friends to play the game with you.. Grow up and think before you speak

This guy is race-ist.
-
I have yet to see a purple grammy drop from an enemy since the patch...
-
Shut up nerd
-
Chill out. This is RNG Country. Killing mobs guarantees yoy absolutely nothing.
-
I don't want to spend an hour on a strike when I have to go threw 25-35 to get a bounty or some god damn marks.
-
I hate wen ppl skip all the enemies n run to last boss it's annoying I really hate playing w other ppl they only care bout speed running strikes, most kills, n NOT reviving you EVER. It's not even teamwork it's bs. I only do it for the rewards at the end hopefully loot in between. N the worst part is they can't even hear u n they never wear a mic

Screw that crap. I'm level 29, I have no time to shoot every single enemy I see. I want to hurry and get my Vanguard marks, get whatever bounty I have done, and get an ensured engram. Why would I waste my time with trash? In the instanced Spawn Restricted areas, yes, I'll kill as many as needed to progress, usually clearing the room. Outside of that, no thank you. I have other crap to do. If you want to take your time and kill every single thing for a CHANCE at a drop, be my guest. Please back out, and requeue, since you're clearly not interested in doing the strike, but more interested in "farming" trash mobs. Meanwhile, I'll take the for sure way of getting "gear" that I don't even need, which is by killing the final boss. Or stay, IDC, I feel like I end up solo'ing most bosses anyway since my teammates usually want to kill every single add that spawns. Not saying that's a bad thing, but it's not always necessary.

Edited by bmxmaaster: 10/6/2014 10:03:31 PMTHE LOOT DROP IS -blam!-1N RANDOM!!! I PLAYED 30 STRiKES AND GOT NO LEGENDARY ONLY GREEN WEAPONS OR GEAR The loot system sucks
-
Had 2 guys rush pass the lower level enemies, I stayed behind to kill those enemies and got 3 legendary engrams.
-
If i have shit to do ill run through it Im level 29 and dont have time for blues or even purples
theres like 4 different legendary armor suits and then 4 more with some different paint anyway
The only way to get to 30 is raid gear plus an exo (which you can buy and since theres only 6 i have all for titan) So when i do strikes its usually to help buddies below 29 and heres the kicker I played this game for hours and the best way to get gear is buy it Not farm Not kill all the enemies So rushing strikes nets you -quick bounties -quickish rep (patrol is faster) -quick loads of blues (still get at least one im about 1-5 a strike rushing) Which level your cryptarch giving you shaders and engrams (my best have come from here) Rushing strikes i level that bro up 3 times a day now. Lol if youre going for enemy drops go patrol
-
I rush it to finish my bounty...
-
Funny, I did 6 strikes in an hour and 15 mins, 2 legendaries dropped and 10 blues.
-
yea I love when I join a game and see everyone running past cause they are so stupid they do speed runs to get 1 chance at a purple or exotic while I sit back and kill those so called trash mobs and collect my blue's I do 5 strikes and allways come away with 12 to 15 blue's from the mobs not to mention the blue's I get from the finish then I go back to tower and rank up my cryptarch 2 ranks and that's where I get my purples from don't care what anyone says that's the right and best way to do it u take ur chance with speed runs ill take an xtra 15 mins and have even more chance learn how to optimize speed runs are not efficient
-
How do you play the same strikes over and over again (basically just farming), kill EVERY single enemy and stay sane?! Some people can't dedicate their entire day to tedious grinding. Instead they can rush to the boss and still earn a respectable amount of loot and marks, which makes sense for people who have school, jobs etc. My advice: If you don't like rushing through strikes then just play with your friends.
-
I actually got Universal Remote as a end reward from doing a tiger strike on Nexus blazing through it.
-
Doesn't matter tbh
-
would rather cut the raid time down to minimal for a chance at a 100% engram, can cut some strikes in half especially valus, also have limited time so yeah killing trash mobs for a possible purple makes no sense. Drop rate is as it should be totally crap lol.
-
I don't do strikes for loot, I do it for marks I'm gonna race through it as fast as my sparrow can take me
-
But... You can take your time. All that phat loot all for you.
-
So right. I always murder every enemy and pick up anything useful i see if its on the path the team is following. Ppl rush ahead i keep killin and at end game they get shit and i have at least 6-8 blues maybe even a purple
-
I normally kill everything that I find on my way, but I have an exotic bounty that requires 25 strikes to be completed. Race you to the finish then.
-
They increased the chance in getting a legendary engram at the rewards.
-
Nah. I'm not about that life. I speed run
