STOP racing through the Strikes if you actually want Legendary Rewards
It's getting to be a common thing now during the Lvl 24 Strikes that I see these kids race as fast as they can through the Strike usually hopping on their speeder bypassing the first several mobs of lower level enemies which is fine but then they continue on and bypass as many of the Lvl 24 enemies as they can just to get to the final boss quicker.
Why? The boss gives you nothing and your chances of getting anything worthwhile from the end game roll are poor odds for the amount of time it takes to complete each Strike. Your best shot of getting a Legendary Engram drop or at least multiple blue Engrams to give you a chance at Legendary gear and to rank up the Cryptarch is to kill every Lvl 24 enemy up to the boss because that is where all of my Legendary Engrams have come from and I get at least half of my blue Engrams from Mob drops to go along with what I get in the end game roll.
The Lvl 24 Tiger Strikes since the last patch appear to have a higher drop rate than the normal game modes at least in the areas you're facing Lvl 24 enemies, and so bypassing them to finish the Strike faster is just decreasing your chance of getting multiple drops. There's little other reason to be grinding Lvl 24 Strikes in that manner because you can earn Vanguard rep faster farming Patrols, Vanguard Marks faster farming Public Events, and if you need a bunch of Strikes for a Bounty run the Lvl 8 Devil's Lair on Earth and get them done quick.
So don't be that guy that runs way out ahead of everyone else. Don't waste you and your teammates chances for more Legendary/Exotic drops. It doesn't take but an extra 5 minutes or so to clear out all the Lvl 24 enemies your bypassing between you and the Boss when you do it as a group.

I am a bit confused. As far as I recall, most of the serious mobs are tied to a DinkleBot-Lock(TM) and you cant progress as long as anything is left to bite him in his shiny metal ass. So I dont see how it is possible to skip anything but trash mobs? And regardless, in the context of the game, strikes are commando raids to take out a high value target, not a major offensive to wipe out the enemy. The mathematical part seems logical on the surface, [i]if[/i] you are going for loot per strike. But in reality the unit is loot per hour. So I am betting my own rewards on there being more loot in doing 4 fast strikes in an hour than doing 2 slow strikes in the same amount of time. I wouldn't be surprised if you kill more high level mobs too, since you will be killing twice as many waves.

1 ReplyI got to admit that I rush the last strike playlist a lot and thats because in the last 3 strikes prier to the one im probably doing, its the same one and its just repeating what Ive spent the last hour doing.

Got 3 legendary engrams all to myself. (This was before the engram patch however) Came to the boss area revived the team and we killed the boss and I got akother legendary via strike results. I was exstatic. Of course the Cryptarch had other plans for me & I ended up with strange coins, ascendant energy and some greens. -_-*

It takes me about 25 minutes sometimes longer to go through a raid killing everything. It takes me about 7-8 minutes to run through and kill the last boss. Do the math better odds runing then it is killing

2 RepliesYou are an idiot if you dont ignore all mobs and go right to the boss. You have the same chance of legendaries from killing mobs on patrol as you do in a strike. Stirke is all for marks. Rush to end, kill boss, get marks, repeat.

2 RepliesYeah no. I have two players with Toland's Legacy bounties (25 Strikes) I can't spend 30 minutes on each strike. I need the marks, and the loot at the end is bonus. (With a higher chance of getting a legendary than a standard enemy drop) Most people will agree this method is more efficient. I would suggest getting a private fireteam.

You can just do patrol and get the same amount of luck of what you are describing, so no I will continue to rush through to get them over with quicker

Or the hacking of the mesh device in devils lair?? So i find it ok to rush through the smaller mobs......This guy still has a point though...

I race through them because I want to get max vanguard points as fast as possible so I can buy legendary stuff just to break down into ascendant material. I've gotten two exotic drops from cryptarch that were for a different class (I ended up creating a warlock just for the chest pc) and the exotic auto I use I bought from Xur. Two of my armor pcs were from the queen's bounty. The only good drops I've gotten were from VOG. Because of the VOG once per week raid limit I have friends actually level another character of the same class just to take advantage. I myself do not feel like spending 30 hrs just to level from 28 to 30. I've gotten a couple purple engrams since the patch that turned out to be strange coins. My point is even if you are lucky enough to get legendary stuff you still have to grind for the ascendent material. This is a grind game, which makes no sense because there is no monthly fee.

I guess it also cause of the damn Bad Juju bounty. Completing 25 strikes. Sometimes you wanna get to the boss straight away cause its the same thing over and over

2 RepliesHere's the way I see it. I think alot of people rush because they don't want to waste time praying they get a legendary drop. Greens and blues are pretty much useless in my experience. Just did 2 strikes and got about 5 blues, a million green and one legendary after I completed the 2nd. All of it was completely useless even the lgendary turned into 2 ascendant shards. FML I hate this game sometimes.

6 RepliesDont be the guy who slows people who actually want to play the content down. You can farm your mobs anywhere else in the game, you go into a strike, you are there to complete it, nothing else.

Even though the game isn't nearly as bad with engrams as it was a couple weeks ago, it still doesn't matter. People run strikes to complete them, not farm them. Don't even say that strikes have higher drop rates for weapons. They don't. All enemies have the same drop tables. Speaking my opinion based on data gathered personally and from many others, these things fall into your lap. You will not get a legendary engram because you want one. You will get a legendary engram because the game will give you one. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Random_number_generation If you want to farm strikes, do it with friends. If you have problems playing with randoms then don't do the playlist. If you are going to do the playlist, don't try force your values on others, because everyone has an agenda, not just you. Either complete the mission or drop out. If you can't keep up, that's your fault. If they die because they were stupid enough to rush ahead despite not being able to get by, then it's their's. One last thing. Go complain to Bungie about the lack of ingame voice chat. Seriously, this is a coop/competitive multiplayer game and they opted to leave it out because of their "vision" for Destiny. Set them straight.

1 ReplyREPORTING ANY UNHELPFUL PLAYER To many times have I had to wait on A holes blaming killing all the the trash mobs instead of focusing on downing the boss. Man so -blAming annoying I'll be reporting any one who takes their time clearing a strike cause they don't play the way I want them too!!!
