Since when has this been the cool thing to do? About a week ago is when it started getting annoying... I have to deal with at least one guy running ahead and leaving every single enemy alive and well behind him. They dont save any time by doing this, they make it more challenging to clear that part of the map, and besides saving what ammo they have (assuming enemies dont drop any for them) i cant find a good reason for doing this.
Id love to see something to prevent people from doing this or at least add "runner" to the player report. Way too many "unhelpful" players without counting these toolbags that run through the map.

I get it and now run through the crowds of non mission mobs. Like special ops... Shoot move communicate and stay focused on the mission target objective. Rinse repeat. And sometimes we stick around to blast for ammo and / or loot. But just communicate w the group

Edited by MetulGeerMeatwad: 10/5/2014 5:42:16 AMThere is a disconnect between you and those players. That disconnnect is that while you are playing a game, these players are just pulling the lever in their personal Skinner box*. You are there to play, they are there to finish. Some will even get angry that you are impeding them from pulling that lever by even a minute, as evidenced by some of the "serious gamers" in this thread. These addicts will on occasion refer to mentally healthy players as "casuals" or even call into question their skill level based on nothing. Don't take offense to it, and welcome to the world of MMOs and Loot>Fun culture. *http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operant_conditioning_chamber#Application_to_games See also: "The Loot Cave", proof that enjoyable gameplay means nothing in the never ending quest of maximizing your reward/time ratio.

I find it annoying. I want to kill all the enemies along the way. More chance of drops etc. it's a game based around killing shit. If you don't want to kill shit then why are you even playing? Im L29, and I did the strikes a lot too, still enjoy killing shit. Don't like people making decisions for me. I just leave now if people do it. Then they can 2 man it and take longer than if you just killed everything as 3. In all honesty, skipping stuff saves little time anyway. If you are high level. Just another legacy of the 'go go go' era of child gamers that think they are more important than anyone else.
-
You talking about during strikes? Because I hate to tell you but not everyone wants to sit and kill mobs for hours on end just in the hopes that legendaries drop. Some of us actually want to do the strike itself. Once I get to the Darkness zone area of the strike, I start killing the enemies not before (unless I have to). What is the problem with that. If you want to grind like that find friends who want to do the same and the three of you go grind on a strike map forever. I want to the objective of the strike. I have ZERO fun grinding on a strike. If I'm gonna grind I do patrol. It's that simple.
-
You're just slowing down progress for people by not skipping the unnecessary fights.
-
Lately I've been seeing people do this, I let them. I just kill everything on my way, and take my time. If they die, I don't care, I won't pick them up. Then I open my menu, and report the noobs for being unhelpful.
-
Gotta laugh at the amount of animosity the lack of content in the game causes :D
-
I don't care about the green and blue drops. I want to get it the Boss fight and get my true payout - Marks, Rep Points, Engrams, XP, etc. That low-level grinding does absolutely nothing for you once your Rares are leveled and you've started leveling Legendary gear.
-
Most players have done most strikes between 10-20 times each at this point, sorry if people don't want to spend ADDITIONAL time doing the same crap another time.
-
Man! I demand everyone in the effing world play exactly like I do dang it! Also dang it, I demand I get all exotic armor and weapons and able to equip all at same time! But no one else is able to. Because I want to troll everyone I like to run my games on cheat code because I'm the most important person in the world Kneel to Zod!!
-
Well my friend, as a speed runner, my goal is to complete my strikes (which i only play for vanguard marks) in the fastest time possible only doing what's necessary. it's a challenge and i absolutely love it. i can get thru several quickly takin little damage on my speedrunning sections.
-
It's called speed running
-
You do too save time running. Why are you not running
-
This is another reason bounties and the reward system need to be revamped. Once high enough level there is no point in the killing everything on a mission when there is nothing to gain outside of just completing it. Even if, after doing the same mission for the umpteenth time I can't say I blame anyone for it.
-
It saves tons of time! My friend and I run some strikes in under 10 minutes... If you want to continue slugging all the way through them, that's up to you, but you should probably try to find others who want to play like that. Some people have completed a lot of strikes and are tired of repetitive enemy spawns and fights.
-
It definetely saves time. You can usually keep running till you hit the mandatory Dinkbot defense part. I try to play Strikes as intended and clear every room, but if my team-mates decide to run then I usually run too.
-
It is meant to save time. They're trying to speed run the strike
-
Speed run when you're trying to knock out for example an exotic bounty and you need to do 25 strikes in a row to get to the next step. Going after trash mobs is time consuming and annoying after like 5 runs.

Edited by Krobolus: 10/5/2014 6:31:13 AMthis is how Any MMO type game works = under geared under level for a zone = Go Slow, kill anything that moves, and possibly die alot better gear and gain a few lvl's for that same zone = go faster , kill everything for exp and possibly die a couple times out level and out gear the same zone = Go as fast as you can, get the loot, rarely ever die vastly out gear and out level the zone = your only in there because of terrible progression , gear , quest and level design (the highest daily strike is level 24 and people are 6 levels above that )
-
You don't understand why people do this? I haul ass in my Legendary Sparrow immediately after dropping in and get to the good stuff - the mark for my bounty, or the objective for the mission, or you know - whatever the reason I'm playing that particular area. It doesn't save time? Yes, yes it does. That's the point. What are you talking about? THAT'S EXACTLY WHY WE DO IT - TO SAVE TIME. What level are you, man?
-
Pretty sure they don't want to waste time on the part that isn't consumed by the darkness in a mission if that's what you mean I know I do that to get to the part that I need
-
Bounties. For the boss. Sorry.
-
What you call toolbags just so happen to be all the players who complete nightfall and raid like its no big deal. Players like us want to complete bounties and exotic bounties as fast as possible. Tell me, have you ever completed an exotic bounty?
-
Lol. Another twelve-year-old cry baby. Take a good lock kids. This is what a pompous and self-entitled brat looks like. Kid, if you don't like it, do it with friends( although let's be honest, you would have to make some first).

They could stay and help but I have a feeling you would make a post saying they are killing all the mobs and not leaving any for you.
