The grimoire is considered lore, lore is supposed to be an extension of information from the games universe. It's not supposed to be your only score of information though. The lore needs to complement the story, and add to it, not be the entire thing. You cannot get mad at me for not reading through the hundreds of different cards just to understand why the hell I'm fighting for the traveler and why I should give a shit.
Bungie, this is why you got a 6/10 on most reviews, it's because you didn't have a competent writer and director that could actually incorporate all the lore and facts into a comprehensive story. Instead they went with the old "Defend and Horde" mode bullshit we see throughout the ENTIRE story. Your expansions better have an extremely large amount of story missions that don't even mention unlocking a damn door with your ghost.

In the cards I've gone through I've noticed there are 2 planets which we do not have access to yet. Also, it may be worth it (if you haven't yet) just to read a few about the people, you don't have to go through every single card. Just anytime I have a question about what I'm doing or who is this person, I go take a quick glance. The more I've played I've noticed me listening to what people are saying more and more. Not trying to defend them here, just saying. I personally like it this way, but completely understand why so many don't, it is a game after-all we shouldn't have to read these cards, but Bungie put them there and I payed for them, so I'm going to read them.
