But since you've embarked down this road... the cost to setup and maintain the infrastructure required to support always online server clusters for multiple platforms of an online game is immense. The physical floor space for the servers (even virtualized requires a footprint), servers themselves, electricity to power the servers, electricity to power the A/C units to cool the servers, ISP costs, and even more man hours to setup and maintain the environment. Add to this the exceptional cost of developing a AAA game in the first place, and you start to realize $60 is a pretty damn good deal. Not to mention the cost of running a business. You clearly haven't got a clue.
