I will keep it short
My hunters not too far along yet but what I have seen so far is hunters are poop in PvE, double jump sucks, and blade dance still wrecks in PvP. havent done gunslinger but i know the deal. triple jump (still worse than glide) and 3 free kills for your Major mobs or a few poor bastards in crucible. and the invis thing sucks, unless youre playing against people with glaucoma.
Played someone elses titan, they seemed decent enough at both. titan strike or whatever is irritating in pvp, kills a ton of shit in pve, and they have the defense bubble thing (in my opinion is just useless and annoying) but still pretty good at both
Warlocks are probably the best class in the game, as both subclasses crush life hard in both pve and pvp.
also vote what you think is best.

There is no "worst class overall" they all have their strengths and weaknesses.
-
They just have different play styles. I started a hunter on a different account and got to 22 in no time.
-
My brother finally made his hunter after a warlock main titan secondary..his first words were you just have to play different. That's why people say hunters suck, frustration from a different play style. Patience is a virtue blah blah blah. But who's gonna listen to anyone anyways on this topic?
-
I think the hunter gets ripped off a lot it orb making and the loss of special if killed when starting it, but I wouldn't say it's THE worst, just my worst.

Edited by EatDougNuts: 5/4/2015 1:17:56 AMYou're either a hunter or a warlock fan. The Titan is good for everyone. And if you main a Titan, you either like playing on the warlock or the hunter. I started with a hunter and made a second hunter and then a warlock... I deleted my second hunter and made a Titan, then I deleted my warlock and made a second hunter again. Lol

I think the are all good, I don't think there is a bad class
-
I actually started with a hunter and I have to say I tend to disagree. My hunter chewed through content that I am struggling with on my warlock. I find the hunter's jump is quicker. I feel like I'm hanging mid air as a target with glide. Warlock grenades are insane but I miss my throwing knife when I play my warlock. My knife is my ass saving move if I get rushed on a reload since I almost always crit, knuckleduster bounties are super easy. The main difference between warlock and hunter, to me, is warlock has devastating grenades but less speed while the hunter excels at staying mobile and getting the big shots in when it counts.

I started out as a hunter and i am playing every class. I checked the forums quite a bit and well most people always complained about hunters. But to me i knew they where the weakest class, they have agility worst stat in the game easily. They have fairly strong supers, but they still don't do any more than another class. Well they could if they didn't panic and waste there's like a moron trying to get a single kill and save themselves. Only then to realize that hunter came back used blade dancer and killed 4 people on his team so he actually came out the victor. The only reason why hunters seem to be as good as they are. Is because they have to think about when to use there super, and activate it ahead of time instead of panicking and wasting it. Hunter's sadly get a lot of flak because people don't want to admit they made mistakes. Hunters reward higher skilled players, so when a hunter does good, it looks like hunters are extremely powerful but in reality there not that good. It's the person using there kit to the fullest potential, and your not using your class to it's fullest. Warlocks i would call the strongest class but sadly there exotic simply put suck most of them don't do anything, there's only one really good warlock item and that's for void walkers. But to offset that they have extremely strong abilities, a range titan's fist of havoc. Or a revive super that if spec right can one shot people with aoe grenades that they can pump out every second. They have the best stat in the game recovery, it makes the biggest differences out of the three classes. But the lack of exotic pieces scales them back a bit, i am kinda of scared once house of wolves comes out and they actually get good gear. They really will be completely broken and they will need a nerf. Titans now this class most will probably not agree with me, but i feel they have the best mixed combined with the best items, as well as the most swag. Titans have the idea sub classes, they simply put are better than warlocks since they have gear that tip them over the warlocks innate strength. Striker titans are the strongest pvp class they have a one hit kill melee with no cool down, they have a panic button i don't agree with they should save it for when it counts. The titans not just striker have the best grenade, and they have the second best stat armor. It allows them to take just a tad bit more damage. They can get armor + recovery without sacrificing stats and getting sub par everything. Where the striker titans lack the defenders makes it up big time, for starters they are the best class in pve, allowing them to put up a bubble to block incoming fire and giving buffs to a whole a bunch of people is great. Or they can make themselves practically invincible in there bubble allowing them to trade several blows with bosses. They have the best ulitity melee they get a shield when they kill some one, that can either speed up reload and aiming/swapping weapons faster, or they can have a constant recharging shield that at lower levels practically makes them invincible, since the enemies often can't break the shield, or they can make it so each kill with it up has a chance to drop orbs of light for teammates. They have in my opinion the best grenade in the game, the magnetic grenade. It sticks to an enemy or you can stick it to a wall or ground, then it will blow up two times in a rather massive area of effect. So simply put defender for pve, striker for pvp. Well until house of wolves and until the inevitable warlock nerf once they get stronger class items. Void walkers are going to be completely broken. At any rate this is unrelated to the main topic or my main post, but i am trying out a new defender build, using a ruin wings and jolder's hammer until i get thunderlord. My hope with this build is to use a machine gun pretty much as a primary and with the help of the skill tree generate orbs of light to my team mates. While also getting a stronger shield and reloading my weapon faster eliminating the weaknesses of the light machine guns and there slow reload times. Basically i will be trying to ditch the common defender perks like ward of dawn cdr + how long ward of dawn last. In hopes that maybe this will turn out to be more effective and get me ward of dawn faster by generating more orbs of light because of my team mates while also able to use a heavy as basically a primary weapon. I haven't seen anyone run this so i am kinda afraid/kinda excited for this. If it doesn't work well i wasted a bunch of time, and well i won't be able to use a heavy a lot. If it does work with relative success, it could be the new go to defender build. I see a lot of ruin wings but i don't see titans running this set up. I doubt the devs would let this build be tho. It would be the most game breaking build, as it wouldn't have a weakness, besides not playing in a group.

Lol hunters run the crucible, and any class can kill computer controlled enemies in pve...
-
I actually enjoy playing with my hunter in PVE especially gunslinger. Suits my play style, Precision shots galore
-
I voted warlock because they have the worst jump for me. Floofing about has gotten me killed more times than I care to admit. Otherwise all three classes are all very useful in their own right. IMO, Voidwalker is the best PVP subclass: blink, ranged super/countering super, tracking grenade, powerful and far reaching melee, and great exotic armor. Hunter is my favorite class in general, it's just so rewarding and versatile in any situation. Titans are great, Striker is what I would main if there wasn't a Hunter, and Defenders are always welcome whatever the situation.
-
lol warlocks are the least useful overall
-
If you think hunter sucks, you're just not good enough to play one
-
I think overall based on both raids, warlocks are the worst.

Okay. Here is the break down Barney style on the classes and the best ways to use them. The Hunter: The Hunter is hands down the most Agile character and you should be playing it with a high agility and balanced health or recovery depending on your preference. The double jump does not have compare to the Titans flying abilities, but it can be useful in a variety of ways. It is faster and you can easily fall into a group of enemies blasting them from above. The merits of The Hunter in PvE are already well known. Don't knock the stealth ability. If your agility is high you are like the predator. Hunters make great support characters and can stealth revive teammates. If you aren't constantly using stealth to surround and confuse your enemy you are doing it wrong. Stealth with shotguns and grenades can make you a monster that vanishes to strike from behind. Try to get used to blink as well. The Gunslinger has some perks that make it a beast with hand cannons and snipers. The chain of woe perk in particular is useful for rapid fire sniper action. A scout rifle and shotgun/throwing knife for closeup work is good too. The Warlock: Space Jesus can turn the tide in any raid or nightfall when a wipe seems imminent. Otherwise the sun singer super is not as strong in damage output unless you have perks for faster grenade throwing speed. These are best used as support, or a kamikaze attacker as long as you have a super. The void walker is faster and heavy hitting. It's grenades are some of the best in My opinion. It is comparable to the striker in super damage output but without the risk of being in proximity to your enemies. The Titan: The defender is the best at attack and defense in my opinion. The melee over shield and bubble means you can wade in swinging and pop a bubble to retreat. This is another great support character with some solid grenade capabilities. The striker is the lead man and a room clearer. With high armor perks and massive damage output it is a strong contender. Ultimately each play style is a personal preference, but if you try all three you will call each one the master race at some point.

From best to worst: Pve: Defender, bladedancer, sunsinger w/ song of flame, voidwalker, sunsinger w/o song of flame, gunslinger, striker, 3 1/2 cubic meters of crap, self revive warlocks who dont use their super. Pvp: gunslinger, striker, bladedancer, voidwalker, sunsinger, defender. They are all pretty good except for self revive sunsingers who never use their super.
-
for me best classes are pvp: gunslinger> blade dancer> voidwalker> striker> sunsinger> defender pve: voidwalker> blade dancer> sunsinger> gunslinger> defender> striker
-
Hunters create more orbs than any others class. Titans only generate 3 orbs per super and warlocks are to busy clinging to their self Rez to make any orbs
-
Warlocks are the most balanced IMO.
-
Odds are that if you think hunters suck you just suck at the game.
-
I used to have 3 warlocks and I think they're the worst.
-
Every class has their own strengths and weaknesses. None of them is the worst or best overall, they are all very useful in certain situations
-
I think Titans are worst class, respectively (no hate on Titans, they just don't suit my play style). While they generate a ton of orbs, Ward of Dawn is simply useless in PvP, and Fist of Havoc isn't 100% ideal in PvE. Shoulder charge is nice, but I'd much rather have a medic bladedancer Hunter with invisibility to save my life than a Striker Titan. Hunters and locks have better grenades as well in my opinions. Warlocks' Sunsinger subclass is hands down the best subclass for solo end-game content. Being able to revive yourself has saved me and my fireteam a thousand times in raids and nightfalls, where as whenever i see everyone's dead and its up to a Titan, I just moan and lose all faith in them and say "ok I'm ready to restart this boss." Again this is all my opinion, still gotta have respect to some Titans considering some of my friends are very good with it and I respect them.
-
I think that warlocks are the best, and hunters are not bad they just don't take a lot of damage. Hunters are probably easier for running sword, but I can do it on both characters in hard mode so it doesn't make a huge difference. I have no say in a Titan because mine is only level 11
-
Well, Hunters are obviously not your play-style. Depending on how you spec them, they can be good (or if you don't stand out in the open like an idiot). Hunters aren't meant to be a tank, they're made to be stealthy and sneaky.
-
they're all fun to play and each have their own strengths and weaknesses
