I like the idea that there will be DLCs and would never argue for having to pay for them but I find flaws with the process bungie or activision took to distribute these items. First why change the format. Programmers build games with the intention to add things on later because they could not add it in time for the release date. But to already have supplied already fully functional maps seems suspicious to me. The AI is functional, the map is functional, obviously the story for the DLC already exists because you would never make a map and characters without an idea of what you'd do with them. Some might argue that the DLC storyline might needs testing still that's why it wasn't released with the main game but I could not see why they wouldn't just release the map with the general minions and patch in the storyline or have the DLC just be an accessor to the DLC story. Second there are too many mysteries relating to the main story line. The reoccuring mentions of "crow" without an actually explanation to it and what of the exo stranger who is a huge part of the story and then disappears without a trace or mention. Why create a whole character, build their import, and then under utilize them. I have never seen William Nighy perform in such a small roll as he did with the speaker. You don't enlist a high class (expensive) actor for 52 lines in a whole production. Honestly besides this the shortest thing I've seen him in is Shawn of the Dead, in which he plays a minor but essential role and these are just the characters. Third what about the traveler, look at him (http://poppycockreviews.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/travelers_vale_desktop.jpg) how is the only side facing earth damaged. if earth is under attack from space why is the only side damaged on the earth side? and if there were some sort of all powerful mechanical orb why would it bother to save us little ants on earth. If what they are saying is true and the traveler "died" for us why is it still hanging in the air supplying "light" to us. I just find this all extremely puzzling and not well thought out or maybe it was very well thought out but they had to gut most of the story due to some internal conflict. I could see this being one of the only plausible explanations as to why there are fully functioning maps we can't access and why there are such poorly used characters. My theory as to the true story line is that the traveler is a being that feeds off of the life force of it's host. Humans had reached a golden age without it and populated the playable planets. The traveler seeing its next food source annihilates humanities defenses (the reef) and devours all until it reaches earth where it nests waiting for the next civilization to arise. All the while parasitically feeding off the deaths gaurdians cause. The exo stranger is in my opinion a survivor of the last civilization it fed off of and that the reef is the only place untouched by the travelers influence thus why it seems to be full of creatures with a common purpose and the reason why they live so far out of the system. Just a thought I had while I played the game. Maybe it's right maybe it's wrong but what I do know is that bungie owes us players an explanation and I'm waiting.
