But unless we could play offline we will never know. Unless bungie decides to clarify this. I've already purchased the expansion pass anyway. There's no point in getting mad over this to be honest

 • I agree. No point getting mad over it. Game dics these days are nothing more than a key to play and a toolbox of parts to be put together and used by the servers. The extra content people have found are simply areas that are under construction and on the servers. The base files MAY be on the disc but the content is not.

 • Yes it is your wrong again. I'm sorry to be so reptitive, but I don't want someone reading this to believe you because it's literally the Opposite of what is true. I work in this industry, and misinformation is terrible for someone who actually wants to know the truth. I could care less that it's there, because that's how things are done nowadays, but don't say something you haven't researched.

 • You continually claim I am wrong but offer nothing in return other than "I work in this industry" Which a bullseye for bullshit.

 • You are totally wrong. You can't run an entire game off a server. Servers do not do that. Servers bring players together to play in a game world with the content they installed from the game disc. That is all servers do.
You are playing content on the servers.

Do you think the cutscenes and audio and all the high def 3d models are small files?
You say the content is on the servers, yet then you say that everything that makes up the content is on your HD. I really don't want to just blow you off, but as I and many others have proven you wrong with simple logic I leave you with your own words defeating your initial argument. I'm a network technician in the industry, so yes I know how this "stuff" works. Do you even binary?

 • A strike in Destiny is a good example of content. To make the strike you need caveA with venus_tileset maybe add caveB with Vex_tileset also add the mob spawns at x,y,z locations. Have narrative when player enters dungeon, and so on. Then you load enemy_boss with a percent larger model slap a unique name and vola a new content strike. All this is what you get with content. It is nothing more than a program that compiles from all the data on your hard drive. You can create a near infinite amount of "content" from the game files we have. Very little of these compiling programs are on the disc, most of it is downloaded in the first patch. New content may include new models, terrain, ect. But, not always. The files we have are what makes up the game world. Models, terrain, items, enemies ect. They are put together when we log into the game. When you join a strike the game gets the info needed from the server to build your dungeon visually for your end. The world you are playing in is not on your console, it is on the destiny servers. As a result when you watch the video "proof" of content on the disc you see him clipping through walls and missing textures because the code is trying to load information that is not present on his system or available from the servers. Or at the very least, is unfinished. If you really are a "network tech" you should have some knowledge to how online gaming works. It seems thus far you are just as ignorant. If it seems I have contradicted myself then I apologize and chalk it up to not explaining this on an 8th grade level. Content is a culmination of parts put together in different ways.

 • First intelligent post you've made. It's also the first post where you've explained what you think of as content, which helps. I'm not going to continue explaining this, because at this point you have your opinion and I have mine and you seem to show some wierd disdain for my opinion, because it differs from yours. I'm telling you what I've seen not what I think happens but what I've actually witnessed in my job with my own eyes.

 • Actually you have yet to say anything other than what I say is misinformation. I don't have disdain for an opposing viewpoint if it actually offered any depth. So far all you have just said I was wrong. You have provided only one thing in terms of a viewpoint other than you are right and I am wrong but offered nothing to support that claim other than you "work in the industry". Nothing elaborated, nothing explained. As for content, techniclly if they added a new model for a tree and put it in some obscure part of the game that would be new content, but seriously, it isnt. Content is the sum of the parts. And that content is not currently present on the Disc or network or those videos of people glitching would be a lot less buggy.

 • I used to run a private server for WoW. Everything you have said is total BS and I am laughing at you. You are trying to say that the games server operates as the games engine. This is absolutely laughable. Anyone that knows anything about a games server knows that its only function is to bring players into the same game world.
