Proof? The only proof we have, backed up with a youtube video, was that glitch in Open Beta into Kings Watch in Old Russia. And all we saw was just a bunch of Level 20 enemies in the first room behind the doors. We haven't seen the entire Kings Watch area, what it contains and if it's actually ready and bugfree / tested. People seem to be under the impression that Developers start working on a New DLC only after the game has been released. So you really think they can draw, plan, design, create, test, retest New strikes and an entire RAID in just 3-4 months? All we see in this last youtube video, is a glitch of the destination map with some extra icons. Nothing is actual proof that everything is already fully pre-loaded on disc! Now, if he was actually able to go to all those areas in this glitched state, do these missions, enter the Strikes and the RAIDs.... Yeah then I would be right here with you and call it out on Activision and Bungie for purposely locking out fully finished content! We also still don't know what will be unlocked for free in coming months. As they always stated they would release free updates between the DLC's and expansion. Trials of Isiris has been confirmed by the way, as being an exotic weapon Bounty. You have to unlock it. PS. If Activision would be this evil as you claim! Would you really think they going to wait 4 whole months before releasing the first DLC, knowing the short attention span of most gamers? When according to you and all the other haters here, all this content is already finished, tested, bugfree and pre-loaded on disc?? I wish people would use their brain for once, instead of constantly jumping on the blind hate train and rage like chickens without a head!

  • It's a known fact that 95% of people who use the internet don't use their brains simultaneously. We are a rare breed of human, incorruptible.

  • You can actually draw, design, print an entire raid in just 3 months. Especially when you have a team of professionals working on it. I know this is a distant comparison, but look at skyrim's mod workshop on steam. one day the workshop released, then, a short time later mods started coming out. These were usually just teams of two to three people working with a tool they JUST got access to. around 3 to 4 months later, we got high res texture packs, entire dungeons, some with 3 to 6 floors, different magics. they CAN very easily design a new raid in that time. They dont need maps. The map areas are modular. They use the SAME shapes with different textures. They dont need to really do AI. You think they use a CLI to map out of the enemies attack path? Hell no. Its probably a bunch of for and while loops. Id wager that for pathing they already have a tool to click and drag markers. The first thin huge studios do is make a platform that everyone can use, company wide to make the game.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Never played any other MMO's for sure either! Skyrim didn't have RAIDs! For crying out loud! The Elder Scrolls games are SINGLE PLAYER games! /facepalm The Dungeons in Elder Scrolls games were pretty barebones and simplistic, compared to multiplayer Dungeons in MMO's like LOTRO, WoW, The Secret World and EQ2. And if The Vault of Glass is of any Reference. Such a multiplayer RAID does in fact take a hell of a time to design, develop, create and test, retest and test again to finish! If you want actual Reference about RAID design, compare it at least to MMO Companies like SOE and Blizzard! /shrug

  • Activision already did this exact thing in modern warfare; data miners discovered DLC maps already in the disc. So we know they really are this evil.

  • And were all those maps really completely finished, bugfree and tested? And how soon after release were they offered as DLC? As I could care less about Battlefield and CoD anymore. The only game in those series I ever liked was Battlefield 1942, with the Forgotten Hope mod. Played that one for years. After that, the franchise went down hill ever since. Back to Destiny. What we talk about here is PVE content! A little more complicated than just an empty PVP map. And I have not seen any proof that all this content is already pre-loaded on disc. If this content was already all finished and ready, then Activision would definitely not wait a full 4 months before releasing the first DLC. We would have seen it released by October. Early november at most. Seeing the short attention span of most gamers here. Activision would have wanted to cash in on DLC as quickly as possible, when enough people are still playing.

  • You need to make this post it's own topic. I'd bump it for you. Thanks for your intelligent reasoning. Btw, tales of Osiris? Where can I find that info. Of them confirming it, please.

  • Some People posted it in that reddit topic about this last youtube video. That Tales of Osiris is some exotic Bounty that can be unlocked. Don't tell me how, but I know there are several exotic bounties that can be unlocked and are a total pain to complete.

  • Oh, I know about some of those. Vanguard mentor missions, randomly handed out from handing in bounties. I have one now making me pvp for void kills.

  • Pulse rifle, void damage, decent charge rate, rumble. Thought it would take me a day, instead it took like an hour to complete. Thorn bounty right.

  • Yep. And where oh where did you get said fusion rifle, I think that's what you meant. None of the primary weapons have damage types.

  • Your right its a fusion. Its a rare called "Futile Gesture" at mid range the gun is a instant kill. I think I got it from a strike. Perfect for rumble since the maps are so close quarters.

  • Well you aren't exactly acting inteligently by blindly believing all the ragers here, that just found more oil to put on their little fire. As long as there isn't a single shred of proof that all this content is finished, bugfree, tested and already preloaded on disc. All this is is just speculation and conspiracy mongering.

  • While I agree, chances are even if he could actually enter those zones the game is hosted server side. They likely have programs waiting to ban or kick people who enter those areas. Assuming they even have that content actually running and available on the server. So it would be nearly impossible to prove without Bungie just being blatantly negligent to the possibility that people might crack the game.

  • All content resides on the client, not the server. Otherwise it would be a streaming based game and them opening up a can of worms like there is no tomorrow, as most people's internet connections and bandwith restrictions can't handle streaming! They would have to clearly state in advertisements and on the disc, that content resides on the server and will be streamed to the client. As the game is currently only 22GB, compared to most 40GB other PS4 games, I was first suspecting this too. But I have monitored network traffic and Destiny hardly uses any bandwith at all. Just standard traffic compared to other online games. So definitely not streaming.

Yes but the server needs to host the instance for the content. You could potentially trick the game with a server of your own creation. but as far as I'm aware the game doesn't have a tool for hosting a local version of the game. So in short that server is still required, it's fairly common for many online games. So if you wanted to see an "assembled" version of the disk content you still need a host server. You can view everything individually but not as a whole. Wow uses this style a lot and is why data-mining for that game is relatively easy.

Sigh. Those are called instance servers in MMO's yes. But all it does is host the multiplayer part. Sync enemy NPC and player locations for everyone in the instance, sync combat logs and status, handle instance chat, etc. NOT content aka Assets! It doesn't stream any assets! Those are all loaded on the Client itself! A ton of People would be screaming hell on Earth, if they constantly had to download/stream all assets to their client, blowing away their bandwith. The game Client would otherwise be nothing more than a launcher of a couple MB. That's it. Not 20GB to 40GB in size. /sigh

  • I know what your talking about, it's how people find deleted content. I'm aware none of it is streamed. But often you will find things like placement markers (IE enemy spawns and locations) Are handled server side. So the disk content is essentially the chess pieces and the server is the person placing them. In a game like this where many assets are a few smaller reused items/models you many know WHAT is in the level but not WHERE they are and to see that you need to find a server to properly place everything. Meaning that we are unlikely to get a good look at things till update or release to a point where we can "see" it without getting banned or quickly kicked from that server. It's also how they can quickly change things like spawn speeds and locations without pushing a patch to your device.

  • That last one was actually a patch, where they fixed the loot Cave and adjusted the spawn timers. It was a very small patch. Couple MB's or so.

  • Other things in the patch could also have added to the patch would be the changes to queens wrath gear and other miscellaneous stuff.
