Just like any book from a series, hooks are implemented to allow the story to go forward in the next book. Simple. The fact Bungie implemented the hooks for elements they know will be released at a certain point in the future is no different. Besides that it also reduces the download sizes of DLC, since they can now avoid you having to download new versions of core parts such as the map and the geometry used to enter new areas (hooks). If you want to whine about not enough content being offered upon initial release at least have the balls to be upfront about it. These findings are like finding a mare's nest.

  • What he was actually talking about was the cut content; you buy a game, you expect to get the whole things, not 30% of it. Seriously, this is a shitty practice, of which I wholly blame Activision at this moment in time.

Point is: This is not cut content, merely hooks for future content. A plug (DLC) requires a socket (this content). By already having the socket, time is saved and so is effort on their part and on our part. So unless there is factual proof, which this isn't, content was cut, this is just an example of planning ahead. All else is mere speculation and conspiracy theorizing
