Or maybe, and I know this is crazy, maybe they put as much in as they could for launch to make working on content in the future easier. I know it's absolutely insane to think that they may have had teams making future content at the same time as the base game. I know that thinking they would want to expedite releases is just silly, because that would require them to care about their customers AND making money. I suppose that wouldn't make a lick of sense for a company that relies so much on positive customer perception. And as they obviously know less about making games than you or the thousands of other calling established assets 'cut content', they should never dare to handle multiple tasks at once again. "Here, here!" to prolonged releases, and DLC releasing many months or even years after a game!

  • It wouldnt seem like such an issue had the main game felt more substantial. Longer waits for dlc are fine if the content shipped is enough to last. Destiny has an issue with a shortage of content shipped.

By what metric have you determined the game to be wanting? Is there a standard that all games must meet, or are you merely upset because you feel you are owed more content? Whether you think there was enough content at release or not how does it relate to Bungie's business practices concerning DLC, besides "There could have been more?" Do you think that since you consumed all there is to consume at the moment you are owed more for free, immediately? Would that attitude apply in any other game? The only fair measurement to me will be a look back at Destiny at the end of it's life cycle.

  • The main story arc has been determined incomplete by everyone with sense. The game came wuth a lot of content , but none if it is fully developed. Thats a poor way to start. Even if, in the end, 100 dollars gets you 100 dollars worth of story and gameplay its hard to justify spending more based on whats seen.

  •
maybe they put as much in as they could for launch
Hah! That's pathetic for a game that's been in development for 5 years

When was the last time you managed a large team as they made a large game, especially if it's unlike anything they've made before in even a small way, as you also manage the many, many business pratfalls that inevitably arise? Do you know every detail of every event that occured between conception and release? Are you considering the technology behind the content? My point is, don't you think you're being at least a little presumptuous ?

  • Give me a game development team with a decade and a half of experience, 5 years, and 5OO million dollars and I'll make a better game

  • Except people who have popped the disk on their computer that can read the Dev Lang have said that what you are playing now is about 40 to 50 percent of the content on the disk. You know, because people can't do that.
