Except that MMO is "Massive Multiplayer Online". That's not "Massively Multiplayer". It's Massive, it's Multiplayer, and it's Online. Destiny has as many or more people in the game world than many MMOs that are out there right now, and just like those they use instancing or sharding to reduce the number of people you see at once.
