That's the way dlc used to work. You paid for a full game. Then at a future date usually about 6 months to a year later /sometimes even longer\ you received the ability to purchase dlc content that was made from scratch after the initial release.

THIS It's like these these guys don't even understand they got ripped off. I miss the good old days when you got a complete game when you paid full price. I didn't even know the game was finished when I completed it , I remember asking my buddy why we started doing something else. Lol

  • I miss the real good old days, where people wouldn't spend hours on a forum, and would actually go outside and do something.

  • Those days are just that -- old. You need to move on or you'll never be happy with any game you end up buying.

  • Lol, you fan boys entertain me more than the game :) I bet this game is awesome....ten years from now when it's complete. ( assuming it turns into more than just killing the same mobs of enemy's over and over with various modifiers.)

  • so the new way of getting games is getting only a part of it for the price of a full game and then paying 100s of dollars over years to get the rest of it? you are ok with that? you want this? it doesn't have to be that way unless people like you remain complacent and defend this poor business practice. how do you justify a company hyping up a product, promising things they don't deliver on and then asking for more of your money for new promises they most likely wont keep, since they didn't have to keep the first promise but still get you to give them more of your money.. how much of your money are you willing to give a company that doesn't deliver on what it promotes before you stop giving them your money?

  • I'll keep giving them money as long as I keep getting enjoyment out of the content I'm paying for. I'm still only light level 27 with rare weapons; haven't beaten VoG or the Weekly Nightfall Strike yet either. There's more than enough content to keep me busy until the DLC come out.

and I agree that for some this is the case... but its still beside the point... the point is bungie advertised much more than we have, like being able to go anywhere you can see, and meaning behind getting weapons, they alluded to our ships being more than glorified loading screens as well... if they had promoted this game for wat it is, I would have no issue... but they lied, I have issue with that.

  • That's not how it works anymore thanks to money hungry publishers. If you don't like it, trade the game in. There's no use in complaining.

  • And your attitude allows this, you should be ashamed.

If you really think that, you're delusional. Only about 1% of the playerbase actually visits the forums, so there's a ton of people out there that don't give a -blam!- about any of this and will gladly throw money at Bungie and Activision for DLC. No amount of defiance on your part will change anything, so just stop. If you don't like it, don't play and stop coming to the forums.

  • there are also millions who will turn their back and not purchase future products for destiny or from bungie, their are countless reviewers, critics who have already voiced their disapproval, all bungie did was make a surge of money in its initial launch of the game, watch their profit margin wane in the near future if they don't recover.. you're right most people don't come to the forums, instead they speak with their wallets... destiny should heed the warnings of those willing to be vocal, they speak for millions who feel the same way but chose not to voice their opinion.

  • So I take it you've bought the DLC then?

  • Nope, not yet. I usually wait until it comes out to buy it to make sure I want to keep playing the game. Cause, you know, that's the logical way of going about it. You don't like a game? You stop playing it and refuse to purchase DLC for it. You don't visit the forums setup for that game and bitch when nothing's going to change anyway.

  • So the fact that all of these places are in-game, accessible and contain content doesn't change your opinion on paying twice for content that's already there? You'll happily pay for a patch?
