So does this just prove that the dlc was "made" at the same time as the rest of the main game? Not sure why it is a big deal. I would imagine that the DLC of most games is made at the same time as the rest of the game?

  • I think a big part of the issue is how thin the main storyline was at launch. If this was truly a sprawling epic story few would even have time to complain about what content might be on the disc that we can't access. But as it stands most folks have been grinding the same handful of strikes and single raid for some time now. I really have enjoyed this game. And I hate the heck out of shooters, especially the Halo series. So for this game to have won me over even a bit and have me so invested already speaks loudly, in my opinion. But I have to agree with the vocal masses on this one. The content on disc seems finished enough that little work would have been needed to get it ready and we should be playing that as well. It would have quelled many of the earliest complaints. Guess it's a what if now. It seems pretty bad for the companies involved.

  • The rationale here is that if the content was made before the game was released they should have put it into the game instead of making us pay for it later.

  • I hear what you're saying. I guess I am coming from the point of view that that is a slightly naive way of thinking... I would imagine that all companies (esp tech related) have a plan years and years ahead. Companies create product x, knowing full well that next year they will release product y... I would assume that x and y could be in development at the same time. The example that pops to mind is an iphone. I would prefer that they develop and plan lots of things together.. If they were always planning on releasing it as DLC, what is the big deal if they add it to the disc as part of the release if that makes it easier / work smoother?

  • You make some pretty valid points there. Destiny is supposed to be a 10 year franchise after all, and I seriously doubt that just taking it one step at a time is a valid strategy. Bungie has been making Destiny for years, and to be quite honest I wouldn't doubt it if they release new content like raids or strikes for free along the way. I personally have no opinion on this whole debate. I think that everyone trying to crucify Bungie should at least wait to hear what they have to say.

  • I specifically am not mad. I don't even have an opinion. While I can understand that people want to get everything they payed for, I also believe that jumping to conclusions and calling for Bungie's head is uncalled for.
