I know few will agree, maybe no one. But I feel that based on other game's I've played over the years I've spent far more time enjoying Destiny (minus the shit show called the Crucible) than most any other game. For instances I played and beat Tomb Raider in two days. I beat it on my first playthrough in 10 hours time and with a completion percentage of over 70%. I played and beat The Last of Us in about 8 hours and found more than half of all the collectible items then beat it again a few months later in about 6 hours, I'll round up and say 15 hours total. I've been playing Destiny non-stop for over three weeks with nearly 4 days played. I still haven't quite managed to get around to beating the Raid yet because I'm always preoccupied with other tasks and trying to level up my gear. I did spend a little bit more on the DLC edition but I can say that I've got a lot more out of money with Destiny than any other game I've bought in the last few years. The only game that I play more than Destiny would have Call of Duty which was nothing more than a filler game to occupy me between releases and I can say that by the time the DLC comes out I will have double time played with Destiny.

  • I blow through games pretty quickly as well, even with a job, and the only things that used to keep me entertained this long is the Elder Scrolls games and the Fallout series. I still enjoy destiny, not as much crucible as when I started, bounties mainly make me go there.

  • You could replay levels in Tomb raider, just like your doing for Destiny. The only real difference is that the people that made tomb raider didn't think replaying sections over and over would be something people would want to do so you get no "reward" for doing it. That being said I have spent a lot of time on this game too, but then I also spent a lot more (so far) time playing mercenaries and just cause. I just wish I would have gotten this game cheap like those because this to me it is not a AAA game, just a fun little time waster that I am reaching the end of (by end I mean I really can't go much further if I wanted to because they don't have matchmaking for raid, heroic strike or missions, and PvP is kind of unbalanced for high level people with no exotics.... and I have to do some crazy skill thing in pvp to even get an exotic... oh and I hate pvp in general and stink at it in every game so....whatcanyoudo.)

  • The difference is that neither Tomb Raider or LTOU us claimed they were something they weren't. Neither claimed they were massive open worlds where there is something new to do every time you get on and would completely revolutionize gaming when in reality the only thing to do is play the same -blam!-ing shit over and over again but on harder difficulties. At least with LTOU you can beat it and trade it in for 75% of what you paid for it and not be strung along endlessly with bullshit patches and the promise to un-blam!- the game one day.

  • Well said. You're right. I feel like I'm totally getting my moneys worth out of it in enjoyment and time spent in the game. When it's time for DLC I'll buy that and keep on going. Why are so many people letting this bother them . . . a stressful waste of time.

  • My biggest issue with this is that Bungie and Activision are selling a product, locking portions off of that product, and then reselling those locked portions of said product when in fact you already paid for said product. Sounds like fraud.

  • But it's not fraud. Yes, a lot of what's on the disc will be unlocked by the DLC .exe files . . . and those portions on the disc mean that you don't have to download all that extra code to your console's hard drive. This is commonplace these days. It's not part of some fraudulent marketing plan to cheat us out of game parts we've already paid for so that we'll have to pay for it again later. Stop listening to all the paranoid cheapskates who are obsessing about paying a few more bucks for DLC . . . as if it's a brand new concept.

  • The crucible is the only reason im still playing... There's basically nothing left for me to do but the vault of glass.

  • Funny, the crucible is what's keeping it alive for me. Everything else gets pretty bland after so much repetition.
