Proof that Bungie cut content

So, information about cut content have been leaked and users on Neogaf have posted this. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=903125 Apperently a persons game glitched and allowed him to see all the content as locked, including the content we're not "allowed" to see yet. Like the DLC missions, Strikes and Raids. I quote:
The first DLC will include 4-5 missions, 2 strikes(one on earth, one on Mars), 1 raid(on Moon) and 3 crucible maps. Second DLC there is less details but I assume again 4-5 missions, 2 strikes, and 1 raid(which takes place in the reef)
Where all of this is on disc but have to be unlocked by buying the Season Pass/DLC. So, there you have your proof. Bungie have cut content from the game and locked it for us to make us buy their Season Pass. In my opinion that is a very cheap move. Opinions/Further discussions? Please bump this thread as much as you can to spread the truth. Edit: Further proof that most of the DLC is already on Disc. (From Neogaf)
Originally Posted by HykCraft Sorry if this was already posted... but here you go: Expansion II is only 9.5 MB https://store.xbox.com/en-us/Xbox-One/Dlc/Destiny-Expansion-II-House-of-Wolves/2af987e3-ba25-4d1b-82cb-1fbe02e2ea07
Link is working again Picture of it if it would go down again: http://i.imgur.com/mOMpeif.png Edit2: KICHZY posted a interesting video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PBunIaaPsM
Edit3: To the people defending this. How are you okay with this kind of stuff? Content being on the disc that you bought but can't use because they will sell it to you again in the Expansion Pass. This content should/already is in the game but is locked. Edit4: People saying we're jumping to conclusions, that these areas are not even close to being finished and all that. Thing is. Since the areas are already there(some with enemies) they could have easily have included them in the game. These areas were already in as far back as the alpha. Which means they had plenty of time to actually finish it all. (If they aren't already finished and Bungie are just waiting to release the rest of it to the people with the expansion pass) These missions and areas should/could have been in the final game but were most likely cut to be sold later as DLC. The areas already in the game proves this by showing us areas that are locked where they probably later only will unlock the missions for those areas. As stated in Edit1 "Expansion II is only 9.5 MB" which most likely is just a "key" to unlock the on disc "DLC". Looking at the lack of content Destiny have right now it could have used this content on release instead. Edit5: Seeing that this thread now have about 380 replies(and still going) where the majority are either upset or angry at Bungie for doing this thing, maybe Bungie should address this in an official blog post and update us on how it actually is. Is this DLC content on disc which needs a bought "key" aka expansion pass or will this later be released for free like the Iron banner and Queen's Wrath events? Bungie, take a look at your fanbase/community, more than half of them are disappointed in the way you're doing business with Destiny. Edit6: A reddit post going over everything that changed with Destiny over the last year: http://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/2hqmkb/how_destinys_content_completely_changed_over_the Same post but on Bungie.net: http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/70822032/0/0 It goes through everything that was in the game before release but later on got taken out for DLC or removed completely. Edit7: The Xbox Expansion Pass link is up again: https://store.xbox.com/en-us/Xbox-One/Dlc/Destiny-Expansion-II-House-of-Wolves/2af987e3-ba25-4d1b-82cb-1fbe02e2ea07 9.5MB I have a picture too: http://i.imgur.com/mOMpeif.png Edit8: lavaman2302 posted a link to the ps store showing us the same explansion.
Also check this out https://store.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/#!/en-us/games/addons/destiny-expansion-i-the-dark-below/cid=UP0002-BLUS31181_00-DESTINYEXPNPACK1?emcid=ps-ga-872&utm_medium=Paid_Search_{ps}&utm_campaign=Games&utm_source=Google&utm_term=ps-ga-872&utm_content=Brand
Pictures of it: http://i.imgur.com/OrfdFdA.png http://i.imgur.com/MmbxruY.png It says 6.9 MB on there. Also a very small download. Most likely a "key". They promise us "New Story and Cooperative Areas to explore" but we all know those areas aren't actually new lol Plenty of people have already been in them. Edit9: Quote from Neogaf worth reading:

I highly doubt the devs just cut complete shit out to sell later.
And that's probably what they want you to think. You'd be surprised what kind of crap they'd spin. Cutting content out of a game and then randomly blasting it into the market in pieces as DLC is profitable, so they'll do it. It's easy for them. We have no evidence to suggest they aren't doing this. I'm much more inclined to say this is exactly what they're doing based on what we're seeing. Thank god I didn't buy into this game. Pulled out last year when i realised what they were saying and what they were showing just didn't match. The $500m gave me a good laugh though. What a waste. But hats down to Activision, it all worked perfectly. Expect other companies to follow this trend. The future is bright!
Edit10: wazzanut wrote a reply worth reading:
Its like paying to get into Disneyland and then being told you have to pay extra to ride the best rides. People who dont complain about this place less value in money and self respect. I like the idea of releasing content over time to help keep things fresh but theres hardly a main body to this game, it feels like an empty introduction to an empty world. Its like halo leftovers and its starting to smell funny... Repeating missions over and over should be proof enough to the lack of content, its been a while since i felt a little screwed over by a game.
Edit11: Another area have been found, now by Nowise10: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xtf3NlYhB_U As you can see it is everything is done in this one as well. All Bungie have to do is release the mission files and that's the DLC for ya. Note that Nowise10 states that this is the 2015 DLC mission. I mean, a 2015 DLC that already exist in the game. That is pure cheapness. Edit12: So, the area Nowise10 found a way into have been in the game for quite some time. This is a screenshot from a trailer released on E3 this year in June. http://i.imgur.com/4zFs3HH.png Would you look at that? http://youtu.be/hRRKtkuOeig?t=1m32s So this area have been in there since atleast E3... Edit13: Another finished looking DLC area on disc have been found: http://teambeyond.net/destiny-dlc-area-uncovered-mars/ http://youtu.be/fY_KKYQG22c Now a strike in the Black Garden area. As you can see it is a big area where you can't go because of this big energy wall, but with a sparrow you can go through it and enter the DLC area. Edit14: Another DLC area found by Corbman. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgoPfuphQvw This is the Traitor's Ketch mission in the 2015 DLC. Is you can see, everything is working as it should, it just needs enemies. Edit15: Once again, a new DLC area found by Corbman. http://youtu.be/BtFey3eEzfk This is the area for the raid on the moon. Confirming that this also is on disc and only needs enemies to be added. I know no one cares anymore so I will probably stop updating this now. Since, I don't really care anymore myself. I've given up on Destiny and will move on to better games.

  • Idk why people get so butthurt about the fact the disk shows a map, and what missions are involved in the DLC/expansions. That does honestly nothing to us, nor could it be playable. It's something Destiny could patch in small things per update to better prepare, something squareenix does with Final Fantasy, Blizzard does with WoW, and everyone online game developer does to all their titles.

      • I am a staff member on a private server of a game called dekaron and anytime we work on something big to put into the game we prepatch in a lot of big stuff so it can be worked on and the additional stuff be added later. Just because it shows a mission marker and discription doesnt mean the actual mission is in the game. Like the reef raid. All ot says is "reef raid" "reef raid discription" this was probably not finished yet and was/is still being worked on. Could be far from complete, could have bugs, many things.

The game downloads content directly from the homescreen. Xbox/Playstation listed the game as 10gb but once you booted it up it started downloading the other 10gb for a total of 20gb.

          • I know few will agree, maybe no one. But I feel that based on other game's I've played over the years I've spent far more time enjoying Destiny (minus the shit show called the Crucible) than most any other game. For instances I played and beat Tomb Raider in two days. I beat it on my first playthrough in 10 hours time and with a completion percentage of over 70%. I played and beat The Last of Us in about 8 hours and found more than half of all the collectible items then beat it again a few months later in about 6 hours, I'll round up and say 15 hours total. I've been playing Destiny non-stop for over three weeks with nearly 4 days played. I still haven't quite managed to get around to beating the Raid yet because I'm always preoccupied with other tasks and trying to level up my gear. I did spend a little bit more on the DLC edition but I can say that I've got a lot more out of money with Destiny than any other game I've bought in the last few years. The only game that I play more than Destiny would have Call of Duty which was nothing more than a filler game to occupy me between releases and I can say that by the time the DLC comes out I will have double time played with Destiny.

              • Im going to post here the same thing I commented in the three hundred other posts lime this Is there not a person in cyber space with the rationale to let Bungie address this before taking up torches on their witch hunt? So what if they decided to release more of the game as DLC later, and how silly will you look if they unlock that for FREE when they feel it is a good time. What if that part of the game wasn't finished, but insrltead of making us download the entire thing they hooked us up by placing some of the content on the disc? There are a million things that could be, but in your zealous hatred for a game you obviously play (oxymoronic much?) you jump to the conclusion that the developers are some evil corporation conspiring against their customer base. I am sorry, but this post was a bit pathetic.

                    • Developers do stuff like this quite a bit (Skyrim had a ton of cut content and reused assets in its DLC). That said, there's no guarantee that the content shipped with the game. Those could be placeholders. They could also have been added by a recent patch (we've had, what, two so far?) in preparation for the DLCs. Honestly, I don't care. I spent $60 on the game and I don't mind spending $30 or more on DLC. If I did, like so many of you claim you do, I wouldn't still be using these forums or playing the game.

                      • This wouldn't be considered cut content, due to the fact that they released an announcement before the retail copy of Destiny hit store shelves stating they would be releasing DLC's that add on to the Destiny experience. You get the expansion pass in the Collectors Edition of Destiny, and you had the option to pre-order both the game & the expansion pass if you pre-ordered @ Gamestop. Also, did you ever stop and think that maybe they added the destination gateways within orbit to prepare for the expansion pass release? Making posts like this just give people something to bitch about on the forums.

Bungie can't win with some of you guys. Imagine, for a second, that they did release all the DLC content at launch. In a month, people would be whining and bitching and moaning and crying that they've run out of content. Guess what happens then? They get to wait another year for Bungie to create DLC from scratch after launch. Or months for Bungie to create new events from scratch after launch. I like the way it works now. I like that the DLC is just around the corner, we have new events every week, and that Bungie is actively patching the game to address things the community is concerned with. If you don't like that, leave. Go trade your $60 game in for $15 and buy something else you think is worth your ever-so-valuable time.

Or has anyone even considered its locked until events happen like when VoG was opened? Just because stuff is on the disc is not substantial proof that this content is locked behind a paywall. I'd reserve further judgement on bungie until a statement comes out. I was already aware of some of this cause you could see mob indicators if you got close enough to the king's watch wall. Remember how they said this was an evolving world? Does everyone's reasoning just fly south when they find out oh there's locked shit that we can play? Pretty sure VoG was on the disc when we got it or in the day 1 patch. yet we couldn't see it until a few days before the officially luanched VoG

Since this is one of the most engrossing games I've ever played (not interested in "lack of story / rpg elements" arguments), I'm OK with Bungie's business model. I believe I already got my money's worth out of my Glacier White (read as Kick Ass) PS4 bundle. Everything else is just gravy. It's just that I can afford the gravy, which with any luck, will be served on a silver platter by Bungie as long as I can pay for it. Here's to the next Ten Years of Greatness.
