Proof that Bungie cut content

So, information about cut content have been leaked and users on Neogaf have posted this. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=903125 Apperently a persons game glitched and allowed him to see all the content as locked, including the content we're not "allowed" to see yet. Like the DLC missions, Strikes and Raids. I quote:
The first DLC will include 4-5 missions, 2 strikes(one on earth, one on Mars), 1 raid(on Moon) and 3 crucible maps. Second DLC there is less details but I assume again 4-5 missions, 2 strikes, and 1 raid(which takes place in the reef)
Where all of this is on disc but have to be unlocked by buying the Season Pass/DLC. So, there you have your proof. Bungie have cut content from the game and locked it for us to make us buy their Season Pass. In my opinion that is a very cheap move. Opinions/Further discussions? Please bump this thread as much as you can to spread the truth. Edit: Further proof that most of the DLC is already on Disc. (From Neogaf)
Originally Posted by HykCraft Sorry if this was already posted... but here you go: Expansion II is only 9.5 MB https://store.xbox.com/en-us/Xbox-One/Dlc/Destiny-Expansion-II-House-of-Wolves/2af987e3-ba25-4d1b-82cb-1fbe02e2ea07
Link is working again Picture of it if it would go down again: http://i.imgur.com/mOMpeif.png Edit2: KICHZY posted a interesting video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PBunIaaPsM
Edit3: To the people defending this. How are you okay with this kind of stuff? Content being on the disc that you bought but can't use because they will sell it to you again in the Expansion Pass. This content should/already is in the game but is locked. Edit4: People saying we're jumping to conclusions, that these areas are not even close to being finished and all that. Thing is. Since the areas are already there(some with enemies) they could have easily have included them in the game. These areas were already in as far back as the alpha. Which means they had plenty of time to actually finish it all. (If they aren't already finished and Bungie are just waiting to release the rest of it to the people with the expansion pass) These missions and areas should/could have been in the final game but were most likely cut to be sold later as DLC. The areas already in the game proves this by showing us areas that are locked where they probably later only will unlock the missions for those areas. As stated in Edit1 "Expansion II is only 9.5 MB" which most likely is just a "key" to unlock the on disc "DLC". Looking at the lack of content Destiny have right now it could have used this content on release instead. Edit5: Seeing that this thread now have about 380 replies(and still going) where the majority are either upset or angry at Bungie for doing this thing, maybe Bungie should address this in an official blog post and update us on how it actually is. Is this DLC content on disc which needs a bought "key" aka expansion pass or will this later be released for free like the Iron banner and Queen's Wrath events? Bungie, take a look at your fanbase/community, more than half of them are disappointed in the way you're doing business with Destiny. Edit6: A reddit post going over everything that changed with Destiny over the last year: http://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/2hqmkb/how_destinys_content_completely_changed_over_the Same post but on Bungie.net: http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/70822032/0/0 It goes through everything that was in the game before release but later on got taken out for DLC or removed completely. Edit7: The Xbox Expansion Pass link is up again: https://store.xbox.com/en-us/Xbox-One/Dlc/Destiny-Expansion-II-House-of-Wolves/2af987e3-ba25-4d1b-82cb-1fbe02e2ea07 9.5MB I have a picture too: http://i.imgur.com/mOMpeif.png Edit8: lavaman2302 posted a link to the ps store showing us the same explansion.
Also check this out https://store.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/#!/en-us/games/addons/destiny-expansion-i-the-dark-below/cid=UP0002-BLUS31181_00-DESTINYEXPNPACK1?emcid=ps-ga-872&utm_medium=Paid_Search_{ps}&utm_campaign=Games&utm_source=Google&utm_term=ps-ga-872&utm_content=Brand
Pictures of it: http://i.imgur.com/OrfdFdA.png http://i.imgur.com/MmbxruY.png It says 6.9 MB on there. Also a very small download. Most likely a "key". They promise us "New Story and Cooperative Areas to explore" but we all know those areas aren't actually new lol Plenty of people have already been in them. Edit9: Quote from Neogaf worth reading:

I highly doubt the devs just cut complete shit out to sell later.
And that's probably what they want you to think. You'd be surprised what kind of crap they'd spin. Cutting content out of a game and then randomly blasting it into the market in pieces as DLC is profitable, so they'll do it. It's easy for them. We have no evidence to suggest they aren't doing this. I'm much more inclined to say this is exactly what they're doing based on what we're seeing. Thank god I didn't buy into this game. Pulled out last year when i realised what they were saying and what they were showing just didn't match. The $500m gave me a good laugh though. What a waste. But hats down to Activision, it all worked perfectly. Expect other companies to follow this trend. The future is bright!
Edit10: wazzanut wrote a reply worth reading:
Its like paying to get into Disneyland and then being told you have to pay extra to ride the best rides. People who dont complain about this place less value in money and self respect. I like the idea of releasing content over time to help keep things fresh but theres hardly a main body to this game, it feels like an empty introduction to an empty world. Its like halo leftovers and its starting to smell funny... Repeating missions over and over should be proof enough to the lack of content, its been a while since i felt a little screwed over by a game.
Edit11: Another area have been found, now by Nowise10: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xtf3NlYhB_U As you can see it is everything is done in this one as well. All Bungie have to do is release the mission files and that's the DLC for ya. Note that Nowise10 states that this is the 2015 DLC mission. I mean, a 2015 DLC that already exist in the game. That is pure cheapness. Edit12: So, the area Nowise10 found a way into have been in the game for quite some time. This is a screenshot from a trailer released on E3 this year in June. http://i.imgur.com/4zFs3HH.png Would you look at that? http://youtu.be/hRRKtkuOeig?t=1m32s So this area have been in there since atleast E3... Edit13: Another finished looking DLC area on disc have been found: http://teambeyond.net/destiny-dlc-area-uncovered-mars/ http://youtu.be/fY_KKYQG22c Now a strike in the Black Garden area. As you can see it is a big area where you can't go because of this big energy wall, but with a sparrow you can go through it and enter the DLC area. Edit14: Another DLC area found by Corbman. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgoPfuphQvw This is the Traitor's Ketch mission in the 2015 DLC. Is you can see, everything is working as it should, it just needs enemies. Edit15: Once again, a new DLC area found by Corbman. http://youtu.be/BtFey3eEzfk This is the area for the raid on the moon. Confirming that this also is on disc and only needs enemies to be added. I know no one cares anymore so I will probably stop updating this now. Since, I don't really care anymore myself. I've given up on Destiny and will move on to better games.

  • I'm okay with it in this instance. Instances where developers include finished content prior to release is not. Destiny, however, has been advertised as a constantly growing, living world they the developers are going to continue to enrich perpetually. Some of that work will require more consumer provided funding. For this specific product, if you are complaining about the future development and the cost of some of it then you're an uniformed consumer that didn't care to pay attention to the publicized intentions Bungie had from the start. Don't be an uninformed consumer and then complain about what was clearly the developers intent to begin with.

  • But where did the data come from? Can he prove it's on the disk or did it get downloaded in that huge file you get when you first boot up Destiny? Don't get me wrong I think what we're seeing here is probably on the disk but making an assumption like that and getting upset about it makes you look like an idiot. There's been some data mining of the files on the disk and most of the DLC stuff is incomplete. Not only that but this video proves it. Notice the placeholder text in a lot of the mission descriptions? Not all of the content looks finished in the MENU.

  • I wouldn'tcall the info hard proof but It is extremely suspect. I am heavily leaning toward believing the content is already there just not unlocked, IMO. Considering the lack of content (based on how much hype Bungie put out before release) it makes sense. It's just milking people for more money and stringing us along.

  • Wait so did Activision BUY Bungie? Because if that's the case then it's all Activisions fault. However, if Bungie is an independent developer and chose to work with Activision, then that means this is all Bungies own fault and greed. I hope it's not the latter or Bungie is dead to me. On disc dlc is the most shameless, greedy, dirty business practice in the video game industry.

    • welcome to the new age of 'season passes" and "DLC"...its very much common practice now, just because there was a glitch in this game that let us see this, what makes you think this isnt a industry wide practice?

    • I'm not justifying it but if you think Bungie/Activision are the first companies to have DLC files already on the game disc, you are sadly deluded. It's pretty standard practice anymore for any AAA game that plans to have DLC to have at least some of the base files already on there. Welcome to our modern age of DLC.

        • I think they had dlc almost ready but are just polishing and maybe changing since launch feedback. It's not like we didn't know this they were selling season pass before the game even came out.

          • So this game has been out for almost a month I'm still playing it everyday. This means, for me personally of course, that there's been enough of content in the original launch game.

Some of it is fine some is not it's NOT fine when you have an incomplete story. If you want to lock off story missions by putting it into dlc, at least have the non-dlc missions make a good, solid campaign it's fine when they lock off raids and strike, because that is jus tpart of the "random stuff to do" You don't feel anything is wrong when it's lacking, so it's fine. for story, you do feel a lack, so it's not fine

          • While this may appear so, it does not mean the content is on disc. At least there is more to come and that's refreshing to know. Also the guys game may not have glitched, there is a chance that he might have hacked the game.

            • because there is also the idea of that thinking ahead of what your dlc is and putting it on the disc so you dont have to DL 6gigs for about 3 hours just to play the game. and even if it wasnt on the disc they would still put it out on the dlc but also gotta rember to any good game thats played online or good mmo know that you dont put everyhting out at once cause then you dont have any content to release when people finished it a millions times and bored and want new content. its a stratgy to keep people playing the game. but imo i would honestly pefer if companys actually did put all there DLC and content on the disc and just locked it so i can avoid the download time for it, and it makes it easier for people whith slow internet.

            • What makes me more annoyed is a big part of these dlc leaks appear to be raids. Which I can't do, because I don't have the time or friends to get through it. This game seems to be directed at a very specific audience and it's really not helping.

              • We will see on download day. Yes some developers lock content but many put the information on the disc which is why sometimes things are leaked. Information =\= content necessarily locked. It's to make the download easier for when it becomes available. All the same, this still won't change people's minds.
