Proof that Bungie cut content

So, information about cut content have been leaked and users on Neogaf have posted this. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=903125 Apperently a persons game glitched and allowed him to see all the content as locked, including the content we're not "allowed" to see yet. Like the DLC missions, Strikes and Raids. I quote:
The first DLC will include 4-5 missions, 2 strikes(one on earth, one on Mars), 1 raid(on Moon) and 3 crucible maps. Second DLC there is less details but I assume again 4-5 missions, 2 strikes, and 1 raid(which takes place in the reef)
Where all of this is on disc but have to be unlocked by buying the Season Pass/DLC. So, there you have your proof. Bungie have cut content from the game and locked it for us to make us buy their Season Pass. In my opinion that is a very cheap move. Opinions/Further discussions? Please bump this thread as much as you can to spread the truth. Edit: Further proof that most of the DLC is already on Disc. (From Neogaf)
Originally Posted by HykCraft Sorry if this was already posted... but here you go: Expansion II is only 9.5 MB https://store.xbox.com/en-us/Xbox-One/Dlc/Destiny-Expansion-II-House-of-Wolves/2af987e3-ba25-4d1b-82cb-1fbe02e2ea07
Link is working again Picture of it if it would go down again: http://i.imgur.com/mOMpeif.png Edit2: KICHZY posted a interesting video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PBunIaaPsM
Edit3: To the people defending this. How are you okay with this kind of stuff? Content being on the disc that you bought but can't use because they will sell it to you again in the Expansion Pass. This content should/already is in the game but is locked. Edit4: People saying we're jumping to conclusions, that these areas are not even close to being finished and all that. Thing is. Since the areas are already there(some with enemies) they could have easily have included them in the game. These areas were already in as far back as the alpha. Which means they had plenty of time to actually finish it all. (If they aren't already finished and Bungie are just waiting to release the rest of it to the people with the expansion pass) These missions and areas should/could have been in the final game but were most likely cut to be sold later as DLC. The areas already in the game proves this by showing us areas that are locked where they probably later only will unlock the missions for those areas. As stated in Edit1 "Expansion II is only 9.5 MB" which most likely is just a "key" to unlock the on disc "DLC". Looking at the lack of content Destiny have right now it could have used this content on release instead. Edit5: Seeing that this thread now have about 380 replies(and still going) where the majority are either upset or angry at Bungie for doing this thing, maybe Bungie should address this in an official blog post and update us on how it actually is. Is this DLC content on disc which needs a bought "key" aka expansion pass or will this later be released for free like the Iron banner and Queen's Wrath events? Bungie, take a look at your fanbase/community, more than half of them are disappointed in the way you're doing business with Destiny. Edit6: A reddit post going over everything that changed with Destiny over the last year: http://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/2hqmkb/how_destinys_content_completely_changed_over_the Same post but on Bungie.net: http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/70822032/0/0 It goes through everything that was in the game before release but later on got taken out for DLC or removed completely. Edit7: The Xbox Expansion Pass link is up again: https://store.xbox.com/en-us/Xbox-One/Dlc/Destiny-Expansion-II-House-of-Wolves/2af987e3-ba25-4d1b-82cb-1fbe02e2ea07 9.5MB I have a picture too: http://i.imgur.com/mOMpeif.png Edit8: lavaman2302 posted a link to the ps store showing us the same explansion.
Also check this out https://store.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/#!/en-us/games/addons/destiny-expansion-i-the-dark-below/cid=UP0002-BLUS31181_00-DESTINYEXPNPACK1?emcid=ps-ga-872&utm_medium=Paid_Search_{ps}&utm_campaign=Games&utm_source=Google&utm_term=ps-ga-872&utm_content=Brand
Pictures of it: http://i.imgur.com/OrfdFdA.png http://i.imgur.com/MmbxruY.png It says 6.9 MB on there. Also a very small download. Most likely a "key". They promise us "New Story and Cooperative Areas to explore" but we all know those areas aren't actually new lol Plenty of people have already been in them. Edit9: Quote from Neogaf worth reading:

I highly doubt the devs just cut complete shit out to sell later.
And that's probably what they want you to think. You'd be surprised what kind of crap they'd spin. Cutting content out of a game and then randomly blasting it into the market in pieces as DLC is profitable, so they'll do it. It's easy for them. We have no evidence to suggest they aren't doing this. I'm much more inclined to say this is exactly what they're doing based on what we're seeing. Thank god I didn't buy into this game. Pulled out last year when i realised what they were saying and what they were showing just didn't match. The $500m gave me a good laugh though. What a waste. But hats down to Activision, it all worked perfectly. Expect other companies to follow this trend. The future is bright!
Edit10: wazzanut wrote a reply worth reading:
Its like paying to get into Disneyland and then being told you have to pay extra to ride the best rides. People who dont complain about this place less value in money and self respect. I like the idea of releasing content over time to help keep things fresh but theres hardly a main body to this game, it feels like an empty introduction to an empty world. Its like halo leftovers and its starting to smell funny... Repeating missions over and over should be proof enough to the lack of content, its been a while since i felt a little screwed over by a game.
Edit11: Another area have been found, now by Nowise10: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xtf3NlYhB_U As you can see it is everything is done in this one as well. All Bungie have to do is release the mission files and that's the DLC for ya. Note that Nowise10 states that this is the 2015 DLC mission. I mean, a 2015 DLC that already exist in the game. That is pure cheapness. Edit12: So, the area Nowise10 found a way into have been in the game for quite some time. This is a screenshot from a trailer released on E3 this year in June. http://i.imgur.com/4zFs3HH.png Would you look at that? http://youtu.be/hRRKtkuOeig?t=1m32s So this area have been in there since atleast E3... Edit13: Another finished looking DLC area on disc have been found: http://teambeyond.net/destiny-dlc-area-uncovered-mars/ http://youtu.be/fY_KKYQG22c Now a strike in the Black Garden area. As you can see it is a big area where you can't go because of this big energy wall, but with a sparrow you can go through it and enter the DLC area. Edit14: Another DLC area found by Corbman. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgoPfuphQvw This is the Traitor's Ketch mission in the 2015 DLC. Is you can see, everything is working as it should, it just needs enemies. Edit15: Once again, a new DLC area found by Corbman. http://youtu.be/BtFey3eEzfk This is the area for the raid on the moon. Confirming that this also is on disc and only needs enemies to be added. I know no one cares anymore so I will probably stop updating this now. Since, I don't really care anymore myself. I've given up on Destiny and will move on to better games.

  • Idc if they locked the content. What I do care about is how well the story sounded a year ago, and how terrible it is today. I was thinking "It's a bungie game, the story has to be good." But man, was I wrong.

  • Bungie really needs to address alllllll of this and give us a roadmap for the future of this game. Right now all this speculation going in every which direction is going to kill this game faster than anything. Is the game fun, yes, yes it is. But that doesn't mean it's not totally lacking in content, content that was (from what is starting to come to light) blatently removed from the game. It's a shame really, Destiny at its core has the markings to be a great game, but it is being held back by corporate greed and mis-direction. Again, all this could be settled if Bungie would just be more clear on what they plan on doing with the game. Next month's content preview will be pretty telling in my opinion.

    • I still find it strange that the expansion is 9+ mb. Key code for content is usually 108+ Kb, which means they are adding something small along with it. But it really is disappointing to see Bungie stoop so low.

    • Hello fanboy's. Alot of you seem that you are being taken for granted, I want you to ask yourself a question. Do you work for free. Is this game prescribing players monthly fees to play an online experience on there servers. No so how do all of you expect them to pay for the staff to work and build this big world, for free. I have a job, not a great one but a job yet I seem ok to pay this little bit of cash for a lil more game. The best thing, time with friends laughing and killing vex in the vault of glass. Just be patient thing will unfold and bungie will tell us when there ready. Would like a lot more armor and weapons though, hope bungie reads this lol. Awesome game guys.

    • I miss the days when you bought a game and you actually got the full game to play without worrying about how much money you'll need to spend down the road for content you should have had in the first place. And if there was extra content it was full, diverse worlds and story to explore with independent gear etc. And you didn't feel like you missed something from the base game or paid 15$ more for 2-3 hours worth of content that ended up being a piece you should have had in the beginning. This is why I started to shy away from gaming, its gotten way too expensive for my budget to keep up with. Especially if I actually start liking a game. -_-

Now we want this -blam!-ing dlc's for free, we paid for what there is in the disc of the game, so the dlc are already ours, -blam!- activision and -blam!- you bungie, you showed us something that there isn't on the game and you made promises that you didn't maintain, I don't give a -blam!- if someone here is too stupid to understand how bungie -blam!-ed us in the ass for months

    • I really hope bungie adds free story in the form of more missions that have variety instead of deploy ghost and kill things, like at least in halo 4s spartan ops it reaches an understandable climax when we rescue dr Halsey from the elites. It was a better story than destiny is now and it was free! Now if only activision allowed free story update :,( By the way I already got the expansion pass. So I'm already getting -blam!-ed in the ass by activision already. I wish I can get a refund.

There was lots to read. So I skimmed a lot.No mention of Saturn or Jupiter or mercury. How do you know this isn't like the vault of glass? Planned to be launched and accessible but didn't open until a few days or a week into launch? How do you know they aren't holding back until after the upcoming events and to compete when all the November competition comes? How do you know you have to pay for it?

        • Hello, Thank you for this information. As it was previously stated many other people notice that it's an MMO, and it could have been slipped into the game. However, this is quite obviously something that goes all the way back to the 4 years of releasing things for destiny, I mean it's tried and true with activision and perhaps this is what happened with Bungie. The story is sub par and you are right, they wanted to slow peoples progress down in order to make the game last as long as possible because they don't know how to do it. I mean the queen's missions were not at all refreshing to be honest with you, I, However think this whole situation is leaving me with a sour taste in my mouth. I was about to purchase the pass before I seen some of these things. I am looking over these and thinking this situation is not going to be something I take lightly. I remember I bought a Tournament edition stick with Street fighter 4 and then ultra came out, didn't but a new one, but but the super and the ultra and the blah. But the producer said "No ultra, super is the last" The thing is, he made the statement but is unable to back it up because if people want to make money they don't care what someone said in a press conferene, they are going to do what they want and no one will stop them, not even the producer because they have a board to answer to. I am sorry i went off topic there, this is similar to other things, no one wants to say "this is something that was inclued in the game, but since ALPHA!!!!!!! which means A) it was already done and developed and they had to cut things out. If you want proof read all those and then look at your Grimoire cards, there is a place for jumpitar and then there is a place for saturn and there was a HUGE debate around the time where the court case happened about adding in saturn. I'm sorry, but I dropped SF for those type of behavior and you will notice that the tower is not as full as it once was, it may slowly continue to drop if this type of behavior continues with a company such as this. I'm not impressed and I know everyone around me who has bought the game is also not impressed, others in my group have also expressed displeasure, there is all in all about 300 people who bought the game that I know are not pleased with the way it was, and about 12 people are fine with that.

        • I like the idea that there will be DLCs and would never argue for having to pay for them but I find flaws with the process bungie or activision took to distribute these items. First why change the format. Programmers build games with the intention to add things on later because they could not add it in time for the release date. But to already have supplied already fully functional maps seems suspicious to me. The AI is functional, the map is functional, obviously the story for the DLC already exists because you would never make a map and characters without an idea of what you'd do with them. Some might argue that the DLC storyline might needs testing still that's why it wasn't released with the main game but I could not see why they wouldn't just release the map with the general minions and patch in the storyline or have the DLC just be an accessor to the DLC story. Second there are too many mysteries relating to the main story line. The reoccuring mentions of "crow" without an actually explanation to it and what of the exo stranger who is a huge part of the story and then disappears without a trace or mention. Why create a whole character, build their import, and then under utilize them. I have never seen William Nighy perform in such a small roll as he did with the speaker. You don't enlist a high class (expensive) actor for 52 lines in a whole production. Honestly besides this the shortest thing I've seen him in is Shawn of the Dead, in which he plays a minor but essential role and these are just the characters. Third what about the traveler, look at him (http://poppycockreviews.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/travelers_vale_desktop.jpg) how is the only side facing earth damaged. if earth is under attack from space why is the only side damaged on the earth side? and if there were some sort of all powerful mechanical orb why would it bother to save us little ants on earth. If what they are saying is true and the traveler "died" for us why is it still hanging in the air supplying "light" to us. I just find this all extremely puzzling and not well thought out or maybe it was very well thought out but they had to gut most of the story due to some internal conflict. I could see this being one of the only plausible explanations as to why there are fully functioning maps we can't access and why there are such poorly used characters. My theory as to the true story line is that the traveler is a being that feeds off of the life force of it's host. Humans had reached a golden age without it and populated the playable planets. The traveler seeing its next food source annihilates humanities defenses (the reef) and devours all until it reaches earth where it nests waiting for the next civilization to arise. All the while parasitically feeding off the deaths gaurdians cause. The exo stranger is in my opinion a survivor of the last civilization it fed off of and that the reef is the only place untouched by the travelers influence thus why it seems to be full of creatures with a common purpose and the reason why they live so far out of the system. Just a thought I had while I played the game. Maybe it's right maybe it's wrong but what I do know is that bungie owes us players an explanation and I'm waiting.

I think the reason why people are upset is due to the fact that people feel ripped off. When you spend 60-90$ for a game then you have little game to show for it people will feel ripped off and cheated. From a business model it's brilliant. It's a fountain of $$$. Lock things for dlc. Alot of companies already do that. Businesses want a renewable cash source. Music is a good example. Just look at iTunes you weren't buying music Just a license to play it. Vudu same thing with movies. Adobe Photoshop is subscription based. Figure one person spends $60 for the base game then over the life of the game they spend +-240 on dlc, emotive gear,w/e,that's $300. Multiply that by 1-2million customers that $300-600 million.dollars. I'm being conservative. I understand both sides. What can you do though....

              • The problem on Destiny is actually what most games these days have. It´s NOT changing the industry. It´s NOT epic, not even close. And it´s not revolutionary. Again we have a game with way too much focus on the online aspect, putting up a huge competitional aspect while disregarding the fun aspect of games in general. It´s supposed to be "Science Fiction Diablo" of sort i´ve read somewhere. So why is it so effing hard to get some stuff regularly? Why is the whole game about getting better loot/gear or kicking each others asses to get stuff? Effectively it´s nothing more like Warframe for example (whic is in fact free and has a better story it´s just 3rd person view and they make no fuzz around the fact that they have a huge money making machine there). This is about starting to get ridiculous ... Why should the gaming community be happy with such crap? This is no real "content" as promised but another stupid farming activity (e.g. mini game?). Not enough for that - if some smart players find ways to achieve that a little faster everything is nerfed to nothingness. Like making BS even shittier. Good news for the occasional gamer like me - if you´re having a RL forget about having fun with the game as well because you can´t farm the normal 24/7 way to get better gear and won´t be able to play the content you have paid 110 € for ... I´m a first generation gamer which makes me a working person (jeeez i´m not only paying my games myself but also my living and my families as well). This makes me a customer. I´m highly aware of how hard my money is earned and how much i´m willing to pay for. Bungie is cheating on me handing out an unfinished product which is not even close to what was advertised. If i´m asking for a good pepperoni pizza in an italian food service and have a slimy cheeseburger in my hands when i unbox it i´m really pissed off. Hate to say it but a "Space Skyrim" would have been more fun. More to explore, a bigger diversity in opponents gear and tasks to do and an interesting story would have made the game. Sorry guys you n00bed it completely ... What is hard about making good games?
