Remember what Bungie said about trading? lol

Lol seriously. I predicted this from the beginning, before alpha. I said if you randomize drops, you are contradicting the very method you claim to pursue. You don't "earn " that which is randomly given to you. Other people experiencing the same problem. Bungie, look at your hurting community: http://flic.kr/p/pjt2Jm http://i.imgur.com/qCeiats.jpg http://imgur.com/FkhSXhh http://assets.enjin.com/wall_embed_images/1411666335_1529924_10152283654261673_1876483252179024172_o.jpg http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=1414941&s=8 http://i62.tinypic.com/149wjv6.jpg http://i57.tinypic.com/2zyixja.jpg http://i.imgur.com/DgfdvBy.jpg http://i.imgur.com/VIyyKzQ.jpg http://i.imgur.com/bTBb060.jpg http://i.imgur.com/xxOJgiT.jpg http://i.imgur.com/hyHCe9h.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Ixrf2SH.jpg https://twitter.com/GunheadCOD/status/515048852228153344 http://i.imgur.com/BCxrOyy.jpg http://imgur.com/0Ef01Nc http://imgur.com/ZtaIlyR http://imgur.com/ptkGrpK

The Destiny "Double Troll" loot system as i like to call it, can be quite frustrating. Not only is it completely random, you also have an Engram drop percentage and the second Item drop percentage to deal with. Here's the break down: 1st table : Engram Loot Chance (rough estimate) Based on total engrams gathered by Reddit User GrievouzOCE Green: 290 Blue: 250 Purple: 55 2nd Table: Item Loot Chance (FOR THE SAKE OF CLARITY I WILL POST THE COLOR OF THE LOOT NOT THE NAME OF THE RARITY) GREEN ENGRAM RARITY: White: 68 \ 23.45% Green: 201 \ 69.31% Blue: 21 \ 7.24% Purple: 0 Yellow: 0 BLUE ENGRAM RARITY: White: 0 Green: 53 \ 21.2% Blue: 186 \ 74.4% Purple: 11 \ 4.4% Yellow: 0 PURPLE ENGRAM RARITY: White: 0 Green: 2 \ 3.64% Blue: 33 \ 60% Purple: 19 \ 34.55% Yellow: 1 \ 1.82% With two percentages chances to deal with, I've completely given up "hoping" for upgrades past a certain point and focused on Rep leveling by way of daily Bounties. That way I know what im getting from a vendor for the time im spending to obtain it. I think they should either do away with Engrams completely or drastically lower their drop rate so that they will guarantee Legendary or Exotic items only. Finally, the drops should always be for the class your currently playing on. Nothing sucks more then finally getting an Exotic item from a Legendary Engram for a class you're not playing. I'm now starting a Titan just so I can use the purple arms and yellow helmet I got while playing my Hunter. So obnoxious. UPDATE 9/25/2014 Just read today's patch notes: Loot He Who Shall Not Be Named Long ago during development, the Cryptarch decoded engrams of a given color into gear of that same color. Early in 2014 we added randomness, both for better and worse, to the decrypting process. The result was that end-of-session engram decoding got a lot more exciting and the Cryptarch himself suddenly acquired a personality. Both of these experiences were positive additions to the game. But we didn't adequately communicate the potential random outcomes of decryption. Players see what looks like the familiar metaphor of item identification, while the Cryptarch thinks he's opening a grab bag of loot. Rage sharding of blues ensues. Expect to see changes to address this soon.
