I'm not a very passionate PvP player - I'm not very competetive and like the co-op element in Destiny more, even though I do admit that the Crucible has been fun aswell, at least when I'm not frustrated by someone who keeps dominating me and my team like a jedi master. So the other day I decided I'll just not get "nervous" about how I do - just get in and have fun, play a few hours. Or at least for the duration that I get a few PvP bounties done that I had picked up. Well, the first few matches I did pretty bad.. around 0.5-0.7 k/d and were near the bottom of my team. I sucked and I knew it. No rewards at all. Saw the third guy get a legendary engram and the second guy get a cool loking shader - the first one getting something aswell - at least a rare engram and a strange coin/mote of light or whatever. The next match; Nothing for me, cool shit for the players on top. Same thing kept repeating. Well - I kept playing and to my surprise, I started to do better.. in the next match I was second on my team and the next few matches I was FIRST on my team, managing to relax, trust my rifle and my Titan abilities I had been pretty good at using on the PvE side. (like shoulder charge and using it to dash around aswell as kill people) But you know what happened? Now the people at the bottom started to get the coolest shit. Like exotics, shaders - all kinds of stuff I would've wanted and I got nothing! "WHY COULDN'T THAT HAVE HAPPENED WHEN I SUCKED!?" :D So yes, that inconsistancy made me think it's not any better form of trying to earn loot as the "Some random engram drops and there's a very small chance it's a good item that the cryptarch decrypts out of it".. They used to hype it so much, how the loot drops will be so exciting as you never know what you're going to get.. But they really aren't. And why doesn't it raise the chances of good engrams dropping if I crank up the difficulty level higher? Why don't the story missions give rewards in the ending screen, according to the difficulty level? That would very highly motivate replayability AND challenging yourself. Alot of the stuff in this game simply doesn't make sense to me, even though I do genuinely admit the solid and functioning gameplay
