The farming/grinding in other MMO's is no where near as bad as Destiny. I don't blame farmers in this game however as i spent pretty much all day doing it and it was my best day for loot. Grinding strikes for hours got me zilch compared to spending 2 hrs at treasure cave today. The bottom line is, in something like Rift the absolute best gear MUST be earned through Raiding(same for most MMOs), in Destiny(which lets be honest, is pretty much a dungeon based MMO) the best gear can fall out of the ass of a random Thrall. Yeah you can get it from Raids or strikes too, but not as quick as Farming. I spent around 2hrs farming today and got 6 strange coins from drops! the same amount as the mid level weekly strike for 1% the skill and effort. If tommorow is as at least successful I could have enough to buy an Exotic item from just farming, this ignores the amount of Glimmer, Blues and greens I got too(around 40-45 greens and at least 23 blues) + CA rewards of 5 purples. To put that in perspective, I did 4 public events and got 0 coins-So play legit and get screwed or play cheaply and farm to profit? Of course we all should be farming until Bungie give us a reason otherwise. Farming can and will get you the best gear for next to no skill and just the price of patience. /rant
