I've heard from a couple mods that they have been working hard to redirect people from #Gaming to either #Destiny or #Clans, but it has been a really hassle for them. That's why I hope to help them out a little on Friday.

More mods or better mods wouldn't solve the problem. The extra traffic overwhelmingly comes from new people who are confused and unfamiliar with the website... and many of them come here through their Destiny mobile app. So, when they come here, they just assume everything is related to Destiny. The root of the problem is the confusing way that Bungie has provided people access to this website. And it doesn't help that Destiny offers players some pretty poor tools for interacting with other people, which forces a lot of them to come to these forums looking for people to play with.

2 days ago i made a thread in #gaming, called what games are in your rotation right now? I even said that if u only play destiny, this thread is not for you. I just simply wanted to know what everybody is playing right now. It got buried by xbox360 asshat looking for a clan threads. I was mucho disappointed!

Exactly. The mods and mentors are limited, and honestly I don't blame them for waiting it out. This issue could have been solved before it happened though, with clear organization.

I'd say it would have saved a lot more work if the description for the #Gaming forum was changed to give people a better understanding of the sub-forum.

I was just thinking that actually, bold letters under the name in the banner for what goes there.

Definitely would be a nice touch.
