I've tried Crucible over and over. My friends tell me it's fun, and that you have to get use to it, but they're playing as Warlocks and Hunters. I'm constantly being wrecked by players, that are mostly Hunters and Warlocks. Even thinking about it, I don't really see that many Titans in the Crucible. The Titan abilities seem to only really work in defense, even the Striker Subclass. Is any other Titan just getting destroyed out there? I'm good at games like Halo and Battlefield, and I'll admit, I'm not great at Crucible, but this is out of control! Does anyone feel the same? Are Titans a weaker PvP class?

If you look at the leader boards Titans are sorely lacking in the top 100. It is a sad state of affairs. Hunters are grossly OP when it comes to pvp with arc blade, invis, and other b.s. Warlocks fair well overall. Titan is built around armor and taking more damage which has been normalized in pvp. I believe Titans has slightly more armor due to class abilities but you still die to every one shot like everyone else. So the class design around defense is broken in pvp. It is not you. It is the class. It needs to be fixed but I honestly have no idea how. If you don't believe me check out the leader boards. It is hard to argue with hard data. And no.... good players do not only choose to be Hunters. Morons.

You're just bad. I get destroyed by Titans with their 1 shot melee and their ridiculous AoE for the super and nades.
-
I play defender Titan and I constantly come in first on my team if not the whole game
-
Titans armor is reduced to stop the advantage. He isn't any more tanky than other classes once you take in the lag.
-
A Titan can definitely do some good work when played by a quick-thinking, knowledgable player. The same could be said about either of the other classes!
-
I'm in the same boat. I gave crucible a crack today because I maxed out the vanguard bounties. Went in to Rumble as a titan and almost immediately got wrecked by another titan with a fusion rifle. So I pulled out my fusion rifle and started using the same tactics. And it actually got better. I came in 2nd 3 games straight to the same guy that was wrecking me earlier. I suppose we just have to get a feel for it.

The titans Striker subclass is the best ( in my opinion ) because you can kill other players really fast if you choose your abilities correctly. There are many ways to easily kill players with the titan so you probably don't have a good setup. Try a good shotgun and the shoulder charge ability and maybe that might solve your problem.
-
Um.. You can't blame class at all. Just your skill. I always high in every leaderboard, and it's because of my playing, not my class... Although the defender makes you a god in cqc unless against a cqc oriented sunsinger
-
How you perform in the crucible is more about the weapons you find rather than your class of character. I couldn't do anything before getting the Grim Citizen from an engram about 3 days ago. That's the problem I have with this kind of CoD esque MP.

Every now and then you get caught but if you time your sprint correctly you can one kill. Fyi you can shoulder charge in the air learned that 2day

Titans just require a certain finesse. I rarely run below a 1.5 k/d as either defender or striker. If you're getting stomped as a titan, either rework your strategy a bit, or try one of the others to see if it's more suited to your play style. With either subclass, I use a hand cannon, sniper, and spec as much close range as possible to have a general attack plan for any situation. There's a lot of options, you just have to try em all until you find one you jive with.
-
I just got 46 kills with my Titan who isn't halfway in either subclass. Anticipation is key. I think it's the best for pvp.
-
Titan is the best PVE class but the worst PVP class.
-
Titan is a weaker pvp class than the others But Titan is great for pve
-
Fist of havoc trumps anyone elses super including a defenders and shoulder charge -blam!-s in rumble where people cant pay as much attention to radar. Before they know it your gonna home in and one hit them. Im hot and cold as hell in pvp but you can do some serious damage as a titan. I find i do my worst when the other players are all up each others butts. Stick with your pals that love pvp and you'll get more into it Winning is more fun

Edited by LastRaven: 9/28/2014 9:43:33 AMLook guy your not playing your striker/defender right then i use my striker or defender and get 2.0s k/d striker has to be played with a full dmg and armor if your maxed out consider making him a sholder charger max armor with transfusion rush into battle dont lollygag have your shotgun ready or fusion rifle and you can tear into people like white on rice autos are recommended and mg you can kill yourself easily with a launcher and use flashbangs , defender full armor max shield(not overshield) and set yourself up with war machine and suppression grenades same weapons kill people who come into your bubble with melee primarily as very little can be done against the ward of dawn. Sorry for long story bro happy cruci hunting

I play Titan defender and wrecked it up last night. Even got a 20 kill streak defending B on the moon (and got 5 caps for all those that think it was due to camping). It's a good class for solid defense, it's hard to dislodge a Titan if they know the entrance and exit points and use radar!
-
Nope. Look at my Titan PvP stats.
-
We are not under powered you just need to improve your skill and situational awareness.
-
I have seen some Titans that are beast in the crucible. I just think the crucible is a completely different beast than what your used to with Halo, and you need to find your playstyle
-
The Titans are great in pvp if you ask me. That's what I am. Most of the time when I die it's from my own mistake or me doing something stupid like trying to shoulder charge when I should shoot
-
I think that the SunSlinger is the most OP in the game. They can revive themselves and have a Overshield!!!!! other than that none of the Subclasses are OP you just have to learn how to use them and not waste a super on one person. Even if you are going to die. Your super will be better in the long run of the game to get 3 kills and save a flag rather than get one kill ans stay alive for another 20 sec
-
Just you. Aim for the head, keep your head in a swivel, and stop panicking. Most fights are won if the whole team keeps their cool
called skill so if you keep these in mind you'll be fine.
-
You're worse than you think.
-
Well, right off the bat, I see that you are using a Striker helmet with a Defender subclass . The Helm of Inmost Light grants bonus abilities for your Fist of Havoc super. If you want something that enhances your shield, you should try picking up the exotic gauntlets called " No Backup Plans". So, my immediate impression of your build is that it doesn't properly synergize your gear with your super. I can try and take another look at it later, when I'm not driving.

Sorry, I have to kindly disagree. I've taken a shotgun to Titans at point-blank range before and not been able to kill them before they off me. Granted I'm not good either, but if Titans were that severely underpowered I'd have no problems killing, dodging, or catching up with them. I'm a Hunter, so I can't say from experience playing as a Titan. However I can definitely say being a squishy character with an abysmal recovery rate has been difficult in the Crucible. It would be different if I was a better shot, I'm sure; however, as it stands now I can hardly get in kills without Assists.
