I've tried Crucible over and over. My friends tell me it's fun, and that you have to get use to it, but they're playing as Warlocks and Hunters. I'm constantly being wrecked by players, that are mostly Hunters and Warlocks. Even thinking about it, I don't really see that many Titans in the Crucible. The Titan abilities seem to only really work in defense, even the Striker Subclass. Is any other Titan just getting destroyed out there? I'm good at games like Halo and Battlefield, and I'll admit, I'm not great at Crucible, but this is out of control! Does anyone feel the same? Are Titans a weaker PvP class?

My titan is great in crucible you just need to adjust your play style to use what you have
-
Lol Titans weak? Bruh does your titan even lift? Do you even shoulder charge and punch people to death? Bruh my titan lifts your max+your ship as warmup
-
I have only played as a Titan and do not feel disadvantaged. My advice would be to change your playstyle if you are getting wrecked constantly. That usually happens as a result of rushing into situations that are not winnable. Use the radar, avoid areas that show multiple pings if you are lone wolfing. While the titan can run and gun with melee and shotguns, that is not always a viable way to play. On some maps yes, on others no, so learn where it works and where it doesn't. Other than that change your gun. If you play auto rifle/shotty, switch to totally different weapons. Try the new and improved scout rifles, they will force you to hang back a bit and play with a more considered style. If you want a total change then try playing predominantly with a sniper. It will force you to learn different map lines, cover points, map control points and so on.

Titans ARE the crucible

Striker titans are realllly good ._.
-
I play a Titan and I'm almost always on top of the boards. Just keep practising you'll get it.
-
I like being a bully as a Striker. Get in, 2-piece someone and get out to find the next guy. Or sprint around the corner and shoulder charge a guy. As a Defender I play it safer, and more supportive. Unless, however, I'm playing control in which case I have Armor of Light on my bubble shield and I jump into a circle and put it up. Most of the time, you will have the advantage.

If you get the three explosion perk and the chest piece that give you two grenades. You can make a large area no mans land in control People seem to always wander back in after the first explosion thinking they are safe

Edited by ANGRY ASIAN 500: 10/30/2014 10:49:28 PMI think they need more health because the armor stat was nerfed to oblivion. Someone did a test you can take 1-2 more shots from a low impact auto rifle at max armor
-
If you use the perk that causes your super and granades to explode three times you will get a ton of post mortem kills Shoulder charge is great Buff your titan striker for agility and just close the gap to your opponent slide and melee
-
Use the right set up and you'll wreck.

The Striker subclass is the most fun I've had in a multiplayer in a long time. The fist of havoc can be an offensive powerhouse or a deadly reactionary defense. The melee and grenades are a little weak but that's why I have guns :) I have noticed fewer and fewer Titans in the Crucible lately. I used to see 50% or more players using Titans. But its ok. I'm sure they consider breaking out their Titan after playing against me :)

Not at all. With the exception of Bladedancing Hunter, Titans are meant to be close and personal which can be hard to maintain in PvP when everyone else is adept at keeping you in range. Titan's are not very mobile making it difficult to close the distance to their preferred range which as they are designed for short to pointblank encounters. Every other game you've listed has the base class of equal mobility with weapon loadout dictating the range you play it. Class has no bearing on how you engage because there's no mobility penalties. Use your cover and keep trying to advance to get with fistacuffs range. You'll find your Titan surprisingly adept for it.

You should be Hulk Smashing in PVP. I've been able to learn to dodge Voidwalker missiles a little more lately, but the ground pound still catches me off guard.
-
Your just the worse they are not week at all
-
Titans destroy my warlock constantly, they one hit me with melee so idk what you're talking about

Not at all you just have to find your mix and matches on how to make the Titan work for you, I'm all strike and balls I go at you no defense titans with fists of havoc can be used as an escape or a punishment. I love the Titan
-
they are not the worse. its all about the player. not saying you are bad btw, but i dont feel like they are weak by any means. maybe you just havent found the right settings that work well for your style of play yet?
-
you're just worse than you think

I have 3 27+ characters, Hunter, Warlock, Titan. Hunter is by far the worst in PvP. Striker is great because of the shoulder charge with is OP as heck, and you can basically run into a huge group of people, almost die, and unleash the titan strike and get a 5 kill. The issue with the hunter supers is that there is time for reaction by the people that don't die in the initial attack, unlike with Nova Bomb and the Smash. For example, say there are 5 people sitting in a room. A titan walks in and before anyone can move, they're all dead with a smash. Same goes for a nova bomb. The hunter comes in with blade dancer or golden gun, kills one person, and the other 4 have time to run away or take cover.

I play only Titan, Striker in PvP and Defender in PvE, and I used to agree with you 100%..... then I started getting serious about the Crucible. It takes time, a lot of time, and yes the Titan has a decently long learning curve and you will get killed a lot and feel like you want to punch a hole in your tv, but resist.... there is hope! I used to think "hey I'm a Titan, I can rush that group of four guys and just melee them!" and I used to be lucky if I got 4 kills in an entire match, and I would cry and say "why are Titans so weak??? They are supposed to be tanks!" Then I switched the way I play and now I'm getting three kills at a time with FoH and ranking higher than dead last, sometimes even at the top! It's all about playing, playing, and playing some more and learning from your mistakes. If something isn't working, switch it up. Try different loadouts. If you're not getting kills with a shotgun, switch to a fusion rifle. Utilize Shoulder Charge + Transfusion! Every kill with shoulder charge will automatically kick-start health regen. You are slower than they are so don't get caught in the open, stick to close quarters, that's where you will shine!
-
You are worse than you think, sorry.
-
When I made my Titan I thought it was better than my warlock. In the end it don't matter though. It's all about gun game. I rarely even use my super. It just sits there for like half the natch
-
Edited by Proximo: 10/20/2014 10:47:34 PMTitans are very hard to pvp with they are outmatched with grenades and supers I currently do pretty good with my titan in pvp cause ima vet. getting to no the levels is very important to being successful in pvp. But like every other game the nerf bat with hit those warlocks and hunters eventually just have to stick it out bud

My Titian seems to be doing work. I think that It just depends on your weapon and your accuracy with it.
