Are Titans the weakest in the Crucible, or am I just worse than I think?
I've tried Crucible over and over. My friends tell me it's fun, and that you have to get use to it, but they're playing as Warlocks and Hunters. I'm constantly being wrecked by players, that are mostly Hunters and Warlocks. Even thinking about it, I don't really see that many Titans in the Crucible. The Titan abilities seem to only really work in defense, even the Striker Subclass. Is any other Titan just getting destroyed out there? I'm good at games like Halo and Battlefield, and I'll admit, I'm not great at Crucible, but this is out of control! Does anyone feel the same? Are Titans a weaker PvP class?

8 RepliesWell if you think about it the other two classes have longer melee ranger than the titan and have "seeker grenades" which if you look at it the only one with using on the striker is lighting grenade and sometimes that can be hard to set up and defender is the magnetic grenade but I can't tell you how many times I've tossed it at some one and its "smart tracking" caused a good though to miss because it moves around the target I shit you not. Add to that the word of dawn can be made a bitch out of every other super and Id say Ya they are a bit weaker than the other classes but no big deal I still -blam!- from time to time in PvP

Keep on trucking. A train is not going to so much damage moving slow, much less standing still. Move while ADS, sprint to flank, and don't forget your shoulder charge!

Honestly out of all my titan crucible experience I've found that my bane is the Titans melee attack. It just feels like it has the weakest range out there. I try and avoid going fist to fist unless I know I've won that hand to hand battle. The shoulder charge rocks, but you've got to play with the wind up up it to get it right. I find that activation of the actual charge should be performed about 3-4 ft from your enemy. Time it wrong and you'll come out of the charge inches away from your foe. Pretty embarrassing lol. But I've shotgun punched my way out of a few of those moments. I do admit I've met my end at the hands of a shotgun plenty of times. The FOH is pretty dope. I do recommend you run it with death from above, as you can get the jump on people and even close the distance gap on people. You'd be surprised how fast you can come down on someone super man style form what feels like yards away. I do find the other classes blink ability, as it might throw you off ( has me thinking that they are gonna blink elsewhere but they're on a set path. ) just back peddle and keep your distance. I will say that cloaked hunter sniper kills piss me off something nasty lol.

It really depends on your play style and subclass, I use mainly striker with an autorifle and shotgun (and shoulder charge of course) but sometimes the bests one is a defender with a scout rifle and a shotgun

Magnetic Grenades. Max discipline. If a grenade passes within two feet of an enemy, they die.

Hey bud. I know it's easy to bit pick about classes. I have. But after a couple months of crucible, bro...they're all very similar. Every single super ability is meant to be overpowered. Really. Each one is really "super"

I don't a stellar k/d but I hold my own on my titan. You definitely need a gun combo that works for you though. As some have said auto rifle shotgun is nice. I use scout and fusion mostly and do fine. Usually run striker but depending on map defender with a shotgun is pretty op on control. They just play different. Think of yourself like a tank, doesn't move fast but can take a hit and dish one out too.

1 ReplyEverything is capped like damage and defense. However, speed isn't so warlocks and hunters can run circles around titans and that matters. Also, warlocks and hunters can blink out of harms way. It has saved sooo many deaths for my warlock and hunter cause of blinking. My titan however....has the most disadvantage and I barely do good with him compared to my hunter and warlock.

Regardless if I use my hunter or my titan my k/d and winning % is usually the same. Never used my warlock in crucible yet, but I've been hit by a few nova bombs and it looks fun. Basically I don't think class matters, you may need to change your style a bit due to abilities but all are great in their own way.

15 RepliesIve played as all three class. Titans are over powered and over armored. Its a class built for people who are TERRIBLE at first person shooters. If you cant make it work, you should not play this or any shooter ever again. Im not trying to insult you, its the gods honest truth. That being said there are a lot of b!tchy ways to die in this game and you do have to get used to it. So stick with it and I'm sure you'll be getting the large amounts of undeserved kills afforded to all titans for bad, unskilled game play.

As an avid Titan player, I agree to an extent. Titans feel shafted in the crucible, but they excel in PvE (thank you, Weapons of Light) but it isn't impossible to be good in the crucible. It takes some getting used to, the right build, and a well placed grenade.
