The thing is that as poor as Ghosts was, it was still better than Destiny. It was cohesive, and they knew what kind of game what they were trying to make. It seems like Bungie just threw stuff at the wall and went with what stuck. Also, let's not forget that there are different reviewers who review certain games.

You've got to be kidding. Ghosts is an awful linear scripted shooter. The campaign is basically an interactive cutscene that takes all of 5 hours to beat, and the multiplayer is straight shit. Destiny offers an 8 hour Firefight-esque campaign built for cooperative play, multiple Strikes that each take at least half an hour to get through, endless fun in Patrol mode, awesome Crucible maps, Bounties, loot, and eventually even more content. It's not even a comparison. Destiny wins hands down. If you don't like Destiny, I can respect that, but there is no world in the entire vast multiverse in which CoD: Ghosts is a better game. That's ridiculous.

  •
The campaign is basically an interactive cutscene
First of all, tone down the hyperbole. Secondly, yes, it's flawed in many ways, and trust me, I'll be the first to point them out, but it at least makes an attempt to keep things varried, there are actually other characters present (even if they're all paper-thin), there are a few memorable moments (the whole finale sequence was the game's one moment of brilliance), and the plot also has some semblance of structure, as bad as it is. It also has bots and a really fun horde mode. The point is that Ghosts at the very least tried. Can't really say that for Destiny.
Destiny offers an 8 hour Firefight-esque campaign built for cooperative play
In which you do the same thing over and over with almost zero variety. Fun.
multiple Strikes that each take at least half an hour to get through
And end in a crappy boss that usually yields no/lame loot.
endless fun in Patrol mode
Yeah. Such fun activities like: -Shooting guys -Shooting guys and taking stuff from their bodies - Scanning computers (cause there's not nearly enough of that in this game) - Standing in one spot and waiting for a bar to fill up - And killing a giant bullet sponge as he runs from point A to point B. Such endless fun
and eventually even more content.
But will it be good content? Quality > quantity
It's not even a comparison. Destiny wins hands down.
Not really.

The fact that you claim that the developers didn't try is pathetic. Take a step back and look at the game, please. Bungie is creating almost a new GENRE of fps. They are taking the many good elements of various games and making it their own and unique in one game. Not only that these elements create this genre, but it ALL WORKS COHESIVELY AND FITS. CoD is the same game rehashed out over and over. Reskinned, with about 0 new ideas, and any new ideas are taken from another game. *cough* AW *cough* Titanfall* In every fps game you shoot at stuff. Its a first person shooter. This game is still growing too. Bungie has ten years to take this game in a direction that will make it legendary.

Not only that these elements create this genre, but it ALL WORKS COHESIVELY AND FITS.
You mean when it borrows from an MMO, but doesn't have distinct classes that change how you interact with the game? And when doesn't have expansive landscapes that actually have things to find? Or when it doesn't have a good endgame? Or when it lacks a compelling storyline, and non-repetitive mission design?
CoD is the same game rehashed out over and over. Secondly, AW was in development before we even knew about TitanFall. You can't tell me that they implemented all of the exosuit features in under a year, because that's not how game development works.
This game is still growing too. Bungie has ten years to take this game in a direction that will make it legendary.
I sure hope so. Otherwise we have a huge problem on our hands.

  • So you say destiny is the something over and over again....... And cod is not. Since day 1? Cod since cod 1 until cod ghost has been the same their ww2 era of games, just better graphics. The campaign on every game is exactly the same. Shoot the bad guys, hide. shoot the bad guys, hide. The bad guys almost kill you, you some how against all odds live and kill the big bad boss. And that is not repetitive? Every game is the same just re-skinned. And f you say the main character says nothing, it's because they want you to be in his shoes. They did the same thing with Chief. That is until 343 got ahold of him and made him more talkative. And they have yet to release all of their content.

  • I'm not saying CoD isn't repetitive these days, or even good, . But they at least make some kind of effort. Destiny is just lazily designed. I can respect games that try and fail more than games that just don't try.

Cod ghosts was lazily designed. Pick a different game that actually proves your point. Oh and those next gen fish ai really made a good story. Ghosts also had $hit multiplayer

  • Most CoD games receive a 10/10 or 9/10 at the least from all websites. For a website it give it a 8/10 shows that they are not blind to the fact that CoD: Ghosts sucks. So if the people who write the reviews on this website are smart enough to know that CoD: Ghosts sucks while everyone thinks its great, then that shows that they are smarter than other reviewers and would know a good game if they played one.
