Community is all about people. When people share a common space or pastime for long enough, culture and history emerges. These are things to recognize and celebrate. Here are some other ways in which we’ll honor your legacy as a venerable member of the Bungie community.
Those words, in my opinion, constitute a binding and sacred contract with the members of the Bungie community. Either they are completely empty platitudes, or Bungie actually stands behind the meaning inherent in those words. Got it, ultimately these are just some silly emblems in a video game...but Bungie is selling more than just a video game. As they themselves point out above, they are attempting to sell us an entire mythos, not just in the form of Destiny, but in the company of Bungie itself. And they are absolutely correct that when people share common experience, that a culture and history emerges. Ultimately, the question is simple: does Bungie want part of our shared history to include a broken contract with its most loyal troops, or will they prove to us that our loyalty was not misplaced? My guess is that the company which is responsible for the words above will make good on their promise to honor our shared experience, our "legacy," and that the emblems will one day appear to those of us who have met the established criteria. -3d3 (Pathways into Darkness; Marathon; Marathon 2: Durandal; Marathon Infinity; Myth: The Fallen Lords; Halo: Combat Evolved; Halo 2; Halo 3; Halo 3: ODST; Halo Reach; and Destiny)
