I am also a network administrator working at a university in Maryland. We are receiving a lot of student complaints that they are unable to connect to the Destiny game servers. We have not experienced this level of connectivity blockage on any other game that we are aware of - students can't host or potentially use voice chat, but they are still able to join servers and play. We do not have enough public IPs to give every student, and manually forwarding ports would not really help anything for the same reason. Even if we open ports to an IP, I would imagine the first student to use that port would be able to connect, but anyone after that using the same public IP would not.

In order to minimize the risk of opening the range of outbound ports listed here - http://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/11875 - can anyone tell me what networks Bungie uses for Destiny? It would be easier to allow those ports to specific networks rather than using an "any" rule on our firewall.

The ports don't seem to be the issue. We have a lot of public IPs and we give the users one a piece for each device. We also have tried disabling the firewall for certain hosts to no avail. Last I heard, the estimate was that it was a potential issue with a shaping device.

Hunter - Were you ever able to get this to work? I have opened everything for a few students just to try and get this to work and it still won't. I do have network shaping. Was this the problem?
