Thinking of playing as the Titan...

I played the alpha and beta as the warlock but it seems that's what everyone is going to be. I never got a chance to try out the titan. Wondering what a few pros and cons are for that class. thanks!

  • Well, it has the second-worst Recovery time (Shield regeneration) and obviously the worst Agility, and most of its powers (at least until you get the second subclass at level 15) are close-combat oriented. If you like punching people in the face and pulling a shotty around, then the Titan Striker is for you. I just want FRIGGIN VOID SHIELDS BABBY so im gonna grind for the Titan Defender which is the second subclass and more of a support-tank than a dps-tank like the Striker. He can throw up protective defenses and is indispensable on any Raid or Strike. (With all the people not going Titan it seems i counting on this fact to get me into lots of Raid lobbies LOL)

    • I love titan. In beta I level all three classes to eight but started with the titan and only played PvP with him. In pve the titan is incredible the only problem I ever had was running out of ammo. In PvP I had to adjust my style a little and be more patient. Bit you could see a high level titan will be more impressive in PvP than people know

    • Titan grenades are point control/disruption types rather than pure damage, but you'll find that in games like control which force people into points that point denial is very useful. Also the range of the super is based on you because unlike the others both the defender and the striker both have close range supers. A fist of havoc will leap you forward quite a bit but it still focuses around you. Point control comes up again if you use the aftermath ability, allowing you to still kill anyone who runs in to try and get a kill on you with your back turned. You won't feel as fast as the other classes but once you get lift going in a horizontal direction you can feel slightly faster. Be prepared to be a big target in pvp. For pve you're going to feel like a badass destroying those who'd dare touch your fireteam. Can't tell you much about defender since the only people who played that subclass are bungie people.
