I pre-order from Amazon a lot. Since they normally use UPS in my area I always have held so I can wake up first thing and drive to the facility which is about 10 min away and pick it up. The thing is sometimes you won't get the shipped email until mid to late evening. And for the record just because it says delivery by 8pm doesn't mean that. All depends on the route the truck is on and where you are in that route

Edited by MoonPie_06: 9/8/2014 6:34:15 AMThat's if it's being shipped UPS. You just might be getting more from UPS cause they might be closer or cheaper for Amazon in your area. Amazon uses LazerShip as a major shipping partner now so not everyone's delivery will be shipping with UPS. Mine will be coming from LazerShip and packages usually arrive to me at 11 am with them. (not being mean with that statement just adding in more info)

Can you pick it up from the UPS store?
-
It has to be a UPS Customer Center. The app will show u the closest one to ur house.
-
Yes. It has to be a customer service center. Best way to do it is download the UPS app on your phone. Sign up. Not only will you get a notification from Amazon but one from UPS. Click on your order and change delivery options to hold for Customer pickup. Its free. Since it's not far for me that's why I do it.

Alright, so there is a UPS Customer Service in my town. Do I have to wait for it to ship in order to hold it?
-
As soon as the package shows up on the UPS app click on it and you will see ur options. Amazon used to be really good about shipping notification early but the last few times it went 2-3 hours after Midnight.

Alright, thanks. I'll see if this will actually work for me.

Works for me all the time. Good thing about the UPS app is once the tracking number is on there u can see where and when. Just make sure to select hold for customer pickup. All u need is DL to bring with u.

Alright, let me check. I know there is a UPS 10min away from me.
