How do you know when a girl is into you? I would give my story, but that's way too much typing that I don't feel like doing at 1:30 a.m. Want to know what you guys think, or see if any story is similar to mine. I might post my story in the future, but not now.
Edit: I've decided what I'm going to do in another thread. Try and find it.
Edit: Now for the main point. I will explain what the indicators and non-indicators for me were. Remember, I'm also stating things that hinted to the fact she had a thing for me, and things that hinted she didn't bother. Please read the whole thing if you're going to post something serious. Whoever can read the whole thing, congrats to you.
I'm only going into Junior year of high school. This all happened Sophomore year. First I will give you the non-indicators. So, that would point to this girl not liking me. For starters, she is attractive. Not saying that I'm ugly, (even though I thought I was until this summer) what I'm saying is that I thought that she could do better than me. So, naturally I would put that thought in my head and think, "No way, out of my league." That thought sunk in heavily. We haven't actually talked to each other, which I find that it would be hard to like someone if you've never talked to them. I had 2 study periods in the second semester, she was in one of them, and I sat 2 rows away from her. I could see a hesitation when she asked me for a piece of paper, but to my disappointment, I gave her one, not saying a word. I actually found it queer, because she was sitting next to a friend who apparently didn't have paper, someone behind her who apparently didn't have paper, my friend sitting in the row between us who apparently didn't have paper, and someone 2 seats in front of her who apparently didn't have paper either. Keep in mind that this was when I actually really started thinking about it, but that incident convinced me it was nothing. So, I decided to try and forget about it. I'm adding this one, too. One day, I was waiting outside for my ride to get here. I don't know if you're one of those people who turn around when you hear a door open, but I am. I guess I didn't hear the door open, turns out it was her this time going out to her ride. Just walked right on by, not even a glance. It actually didn't add up to me. I mean, no one was around, absolutely no one. If she was shy or something, I understand if it's more public, but no one was there.
Now those were the non-indicators, but time for indicators. I mentioned I had 2 study periods in the second semester, the first semester I had 5, and she was in 3 of them. One study I didn't realize she was in until more than half way into the semester (I might have missed something in that time period). But, 2 study periods I began to catch on to something. I noticed that during the 2 studies in which I knew she was there, she would constantly stare at me. In one study, I noticed every time I would turn to talk to my friend, (I sat 3 rows away, and she was a seat behind, so my eyes could be deceiving from that angle while looking straight) she would be staring at me. I made it look like I didn't noticed, but I made sure that she was looking and I wasn't crazy. This happened multiple times throughout the semester. The other I study, I was unfortunate enough to have no one to talk to. The setup of the class was queer, but let's say I was looking at the chalkboard, and she would be looking at the wall in my direction (I could trust my eyes in this classroom, unlike the other classroom). Multiple occasions she was staring at me some more. I actually looked back at her sometimes, and she would turn away. Then, sometimes she would go back to me. This happened a lot, as well. All of these stares were also concentrated stares that lasted 15+ seconds, not just glances.
Another indicator was minor, but significant. It showed me if she had interest in me, she talked about it. During the first semester, I was walking out of History class one day. She and her friend were walking down the same hall my class was in(never saw her there before). As I walked out, I guess they passed by, I didn't even noticed until I looked up. I was looking straight ahead, but I noticed she turned back towards me, and looked at me for a couple seconds. She then turned to her friend, said something, and then her friend took a look at me. Then they started chatting it up again, completely unaware that I noticed all of it.
This is my favorite one, though. I was walking to a class one day, and of course, she and the same friend were walking the opposite way I was. As I was walking and getting closer to them, once again some more looking at me. But, when we got within arms reach, her friend actually tried to shove her into me. Don't know why, but being the crafty bastard I am at avoiding hallway collisions, slip away and avoid it. Now that I think of it, whether it was intentional or not, I should've just let it happen. Could've actually started it right there. Remember, everything I've mentioned happened in one year during different times of the year. This isn't the order it happened in.
Now, I'm asking "what if?" I never had a girlfriend, but now I think I could've had one for a year (even though I didn't have feelings for her anyways, they would've probably developed over time). From September to June, that just seems way too long to like someone you don't even know. I'm just trying to move on with my life, but the thought of it just comes back constantly. Hope you read this whole thing before posting something serious, otherwise, go -blam!- yourself.
Edit: Congrats to whoever read the whole thing. Keep in mind that this isn't a thread to try and pick up girls, it's about picking up signs that their into you. September 5th is when I go back, so maybe I'll find out then? Actually cool to see other people's experiences, keep posting.
