SAO is good, but VERY overrated. There are much better anime this season such as: Zankyou no Terror, Aldnoah.Zero, Tokyo Ghoul, and Akame ga Kill. The first arc in SAO is still the best one IMO, but GGO is better than ALO at least.

Those are all the new series, back when SAO season 1 was the most popular show it was all people liked and I can't say I'm not a fan cuz I love SAO. But it's all depends on opinion I suppose I just like action and romance but at the same time

Yeah SAO WAS the most popular back then, until Attack on Titan came out in spring 2013 and blew people's minds.

Attack on Titan was basically the only anime alive and the weird thing was I actually didn't enjoy it as much. While it was still cool I wasn't very into it

I loved the animation, art style, soundtrack, and overall just how epic it was, but the story and character development was pretty weak. Hopefully that gets better in Season 2.

Yea art style was new and beautiful but your right the characters were kind of copy and paste where the main dude has a vendetta and then you have to girl with no emotions but is really tough and the need who's really weak but can make strategies

I agree it is overrated but still one of my favorite animes. This season is good and I love all of the shows you listed, but none of them will have the lasting impact that SAO has had. Mostly because they will end early and not complete the portion of the story. Tokyo Ghoul ends with 12 episodes :(

Sucks that Tokyo Ghoul ends with 12 episodes. Hopefully it'll be like NGNL where they are just taking a break to make another season.

I think SAO is good not because of the art or acting but the story and thoughts it provoke...what would happen if something like SAO ever truly happened? And its not like its not a possibility, the Way Tech is going anymore. You don't think that one day we'll all have something to 'plug' into. Heck, things like that are already being tested.

Don't get me wrong man I really enjoy SAO every Saturday, but I just think people blow it way out proportion. Just my opinion though. The other anime I listed I think are better than SAO in every way, but that doesn't mean I dislike SAO by any means. I agree it's a very interesting concept, and I'm sure something like a NerveGear will inevitably happen someday.

You should watch "Log Horizon". It's a pretty good show. And it would be interesting if the plot actually happened.

Try crunchyroll.com if you don't already have a good anime site. It's free HD streaming of anime shows. Only think I don't like is the subtitles but that comes with every Japanese anime haha

Lol. I'll use my 3 episode rule. If I'm not interested after 3 episodes I'll drop it. I don't expect anything mind blowing or revolutionary, but as long as it's somewhat entertaining then I'm good. Thanks for the suggestion though bro.

Lol don't. It's literally just the narrator explaining what an MMO is and giving random perspectives of 'experienced' players and the 'inexperienced' ones. The show had a lot of promise but I really didn't need to know that a person with a shield could shield people or that a person with a sword could cut things.
