Not sure how well that would work. Unless we're having class specific guns for subclasses, it would be kinda pointless. Lets take the Hunter as an example. Both subclasses have unique gameplay. The Gunslinger is a snipery, long range fighter. Meanwhile, the Bladedancer is up close and slicing things with a knife.

 • It's more so about giving the 3 classes a tad bit more diversity/character, while giving a player a slight, slight bit of incentive to use the misfit weapons no one wants to use for obvious reasons. Auto rifles will most likely be weapon of choice from until the end of time (10 years Destiny time), but to have an excuse to use a Handcannon for example would be nice! I hate doing this but... in Call of Duty you will see people use every variety of guns, and the reason being is the incentive to use them in varying situations. ARs for medium range, SMGs for close quarters, etc. Destiny does have this, Handcannons are useless regardless, burst rifles can't compete with the damage output of ARs, and Scout rifles for the most part as well. They don't need a damage increase and don't need to be homogenized on par with ARs, just an excuse to use them occasionally, and this is that excuse.

 • Gunslingers already have incentive to use accurate guns because of passive abilities giving you buffs for precision kills. However, the reason to use different weapons is personal preference. They already buffed Handcannons and Pulse Rifles.

 • It was a kill-two-birds-with-one-stone situation. The main purpose of my proposal was to add a little personality to our characters/classes, whilst at the same time making the lesser weapons a more viable option. Handcannons did get a buff, but I don't think one bullet is going to make much of a difference in people using them. During the beta I chose a Handcannon thinking I'll give it a go until my next upgrade in a couple levels. A gun hadn't dropped for me until lvl 8 and I could get switch it out fast enough. Some people liked the idea, others didn't, but that's what these forums are for, so we can discuss things.

 • Bungie didn't want your class choice to limit your gameplay down the road though. What if you want to play a warlock but you love Pulse Rifles? I'm just giving their reasoning for doing what they did. While I'm not sure about your suggestion, I honestly wouldn't have minded if they stylized class gameplay. That being said, I don't mind that they chose not to, either.

 • I'm not disagreeing with you. I'd love to see a feature in the full game. I hate seeing Titans camp in the back of the map with a sniper rifle and tons of armor.
