What's messed up is even if trolling your still mostly right.
Xbox party chat has always been superior to PS. Even their tiny headset that comes with the X1 is better for communicating than say the P4C.
PS players don't like communicating from my experience so far. But the more Xbox users that come over to PS will change it.
Not sure why PlayStation users act like shut ins. But I still use my PS4 more than my X1.
Thing is I don't need 10 loud, obnoxious players in every match. I just want 2 or 3 people that communicate well and enjoy talking with friends.

The best type of trolling one can do, is honest trolling. Not saying I am, but it would be good. Your assessment is correct. It is the undeniable truth that many fail to see, or want to see. I doubt it will change much though.
