Incorrect, in terms of being a" beater" means you had access to a full game beta, like Sword Art Online did, but.... the Destiny Beta was a separate slice of a pre build of Destiny and not the full game dev build... so only Bungie can be Beaters.

Thank you kind sir for destroying all of their logic. They won't see, they won't respect it and they certainly won't listen to it but thank you. I've seen SAO and found it to be just ok as anime goes however I do feel it could possibly be the worst thing to have ever happened to video games. Now every time a game offers a beta we will have to deal with these moronic comparison regardless to how mind blowingly different the game is from anything in SAO. Hey look the new Mario cooking game beta is out. Well I was a beta test for that game so now I'm a beater just like in SAO. If you want to call yourself a "cheater" then just do it. Don't dress it up all fancy like. Besides none of you can be considered "beaters" anyway. What we played in the beta has been changed so much what you think you know no longer matters. Not to mention all your beta shit is gone. You guys feel a need to hold on this, fine but just know most people find it ridiculous.

To my knowledge, it's not stated anywhere that the term "beater" is exclusive to the beta of a final build of a game. Either way, in my opinion, you're taking it too seriously, and being irritable. Yes, there's people that attempt to bask in self glorification by calling themselves beaters, but there's also people that just use it recreationally, for fun, because it is a gaming term now that's used by some whether others realize, or acknowledge it or not. Also, most of those people aren't trying to convey the negative connotation of the term, "cheater," but it remains applicable because of the experience and knowledge beta testing can bring and provide an advantage to the player, however minuscule or redundant it becomes after however much time has passed. Yes, people who call themselves beaters to brag can be annoying, but so can the people who whine or rage over the annoying people.

"Thanks for playing this pre beta of Destiny... this Beta is not from the current stage of game development, but an old pre dev build."something pretty close, not word for word. But you get the point, Kiritos SAO beta is nothing close to what the Destiny Beta was. Being a cheater is what any one would say to someone who does something in any game that some one else wouldn't know. Fact.

Now excuse me kind sir while i go watch some SAO :3[/quote] To me it kind of does since Kirito had you know memorized all the enemy patterns, safe routes, exp and loot drops from most monsters, and extensive knowledge of both quests and dungeons. So pretty much ways to get great really quickly. We didn't experience enough in the destiny beta to become gods like Kirito. Hell all i know is attack patterns of fallen and hive, some story missions and one strike. And I study and explored every adea available but so much was cut off and hidden that I don't know any areas to the extent of "beater" type knowledge. And there would be no way to. Just saying.
