Skip to 5:15 in the trailer
Animation is at 5:24
At the end of the 3 Guardians walking and changing outfits, watch the Warlock.
That space magic doe.
It doesn't look like void and definitly not solar. That light blue-grey color seems to be ARC.
Update
Notice at Subclass, it says 2/3. (2 out of 3)
Third subclass confirmed?
Edit/Note
Before I burn alive from the flaming, I originally had question marks on the end of "Proof of third subclass" and "Third Subclass confirmed. " , but made them periods to spark debate. Sorry if I hurt some butts.
This thread is speculation only.

You don't even need all this fancy bs to see there is a 3rd sub class. Look in the companion app, click on your character and look at the subclass screen it says 2/3.

Destiny - Character Creation: http://youtu.be/jTjmBC5GdsU Skip to 0:37. Its just the void walker. I still hope they are going to have a 3rd subclass and that each Guardian has a subclass for each kind of Light Element
-
Wait, so everyone is saying that the blue energy that coalesces from his hand is arc energy?! Bwahhahahahaaahaha...! Every picture that the warlock is in has that blue colored energy of LIGHT. It isn't specific to any particular energy type. It's just showing the power that the warlock grasps. Arc energy would be more... Electric like when you see the Titan clench his fist. It is covered in electrical arc energy. It isn't a glowing orb of light like the warlocks, it is barely contained on the titans fist. Guys, please just accept the fact that for the release of this game there is only two of the three know light types you are able to wield. After a future expansion or game, we might see more but not for release.
-
Noticed this as well. Can't wait to see that Solar Titan action :)
-
A third subclass at release wouldn't surprise me. I'm kind of hoping Bungie is saving this huge surprise for when the game gets released...though that's probably just wishful thinking. Frankly, I'd be MORE surprised if they NEVER released a third subclass - future DLC is a strong possibility.

Since this thread is still alive, might as well post this. Your confirmation bias is now officially debunked
-
I don't want a 3rd subclass. We got male and female Titans and both sexs for 3 races that's six Titans to choose from 6 for hunter 6 for wisards 18 diferent carators to choose from is plenty to choose from.

There is proof on both sides. On the side of confirming a 3rd it's a bunch of possibility with speculation from fans. On the side of confirming no 3rd we have a bungie member stating what happens when you lock in a class a long with some player speculation. But nothing officially stated on what the third slot is for. I'll just say i'd LIKE a third subclass. But i'm prepared and going into destiny assuming there won't be a third. TBH my guess on the lack of a third subclass is to give team importance. Say the enemies in strike that you are currently doing are super weak to solar but decently weak to arc and void hunters/warlocks become more important. Just my guess though.
-
it seems to be...maybe he was summoning his ghost we dont know cuz it cuts out but before it cuts out the orb pulses in animation giving the ball of light effects not something that summning your ghost does....interesting doeh xD
-
So I was hoping for this... So hard. Thank you. I made the connection but you gave me proof. Thank you.
-
The proof was already there in the beta. There were 3 boxes. 2 of them had the subclasses already there. The other one was blank. They wouldn't put a blank one there for no reason. I believe each character will be able to use all three elements. Solar, void, and ark
-
That's just him pulling out his ghost-_-
-
5:24 is a variation of the warlocks nova bomb that makes it split into 3 projectiles. This was already known.
-
God Praise Based OP for giving us hope again

checkout my fresh new clan!! Looking for memberz and fellow gamers who wanna tear up Destiny with me xD (Dark Dwellers) #join #givemealooksee

A third subclass would make sense so that every class could have each type of element damage for the hunter it would be void based , for the warlock it would be arc based and for the Titan it would be solar based damage
-
I was thinking that the 3rd subclass slot was for when you locked in one of the original ones. I was thinking you could only lock in one of you subclasses (and you get another level one subclass of that type) so you don't have 30 or so builds that could accommodate every situation you encounter. However I must admit that it does look like an arc ability in the trailer at 5:24. Does anybody know if in the beta if you had 10 slots in your inventory for subclasses just like weapons and gear? That could help disprove me theory. I hope that there is a 3rd subclass but I don't want it to be a congrats you reached level 30 now you have the by far best abilities in the game. It would be neat if they were more cooperative minded to help in raids and other end game activities.
-
three elements - three trees for each class. Basic calculation, there you go.
-
It's already confirmed there are 2 subclasses and that the extra slot is to lock one of your subclasses and then gain bonus xp and play around with the different upgrade and ability combinations. Also if you think I'm wrong go to your Grimore cards. Then go to subclasses, there are 8 Grimore cards... 2 cards for each of the 3 guardians subclasses then the remaining 2 are dead ghosts Grimore cards. Stop with this already

Edited by Spiritpotato: 8/8/2014 6:57:18 PMYou mean when the warlock was getting out it's ghost?
-
there is a difference between the ghost summoning animation and the warlock power ball. I know the ghost summon is flat and circular, like a vertical dinner plate, with dinklebot in the center. The power ball is deliberately spherical and is flowing with little sparks of power. I believe there is a third subclass, and that we will be able to switch between the three on the fly like a swapping out a weapon in our inventory
-
They showed us there was three sub classes one for each element type fire arc and void
-
It's already been confirmed that locking in your subclass for the first time opens up a second blank subclass of the same type with boosted XP so you can have two subclasses with different builds and that's why there's a blank slot beside your subclasses. As for the possibility of an actual third, all new subclass? Well it's a definite possibility. Each of the classes has been revealed to have only 2 subclasses which match 2 of the 3 types of damage, so the last type of damage each class hasn't been seen to be able to use COULD become their third all-new build in the future. Whether at launch or at some point down the line in a patch or expansion I suppose we'll just have to wait and see, and speculate and theorise over XD
-
To me it looks the same as when what the warlock does when in the character menu while void walker is equipped same colour of magic to. Go to 9:30 in the video it looks the same to me.
-
So I'm just gonna point this out, take from this what you will :) At around 3:12-3:15 in the video it shows a Hunter..... NO second subclass slot..... YET there is still the button to lock in the subclass...... so one possibility is that this is an old version in which locking in didn't give you a copy.... OR it's that locking in doesn't place the new subclass in that third slot.... sorry if i didn't explain that well enough, hopefully you guys will understand what i'm getting at :)
