This makes sense if two things happen: 1) There needs to be seven warminds (I'm pretty sure they said there was) 2) They, now just Rasputin, need to exist to protect the Traveler (or some other "God"). I think it was one of their jobs, as they are super smart AI. I will search around the wiki and datamined site, but I think the Seraphs are a seperate entity.
