If it's obscenely poor it does. It discredits the person posting and what they have to say. Poor grammer and spelling implies general lack of intelligence and education. At least, that's what I learned in school.

My comment wasn't even directed at you. It was directed at the guy who typed "enything" and "then" instead of "than" - those are examples off the top of my head. I don't care about a mistake or two but there were 4-6 in a very short paragraph. It's not like I'm alone in wanting basic english skills in a forum.
