Depends on the MOS you want. Im in the Marines right now. I am a Combat Instructor at SOI West ITB. There are plenty of older privates that come through. If you want it, you can make it.

Edited by LordFarquaad690: 9/5/2014 2:00:53 AMAge chart for active duty and reserves^^^ You can still go active duty in either the Navy or the Army. If I had to choose between the two I would DEFINITELY choose the Navy. But, if you really want to be a marine you still have 1 more year to join the reserves. If I were in your position, I honestly would go active duty Navy and try to go DEVGRU (make a career out of it), rather than be a part time bad ass. Even though active duty USMC is where it's at. If you really wanted to be a Marine then you would have became one by now.

Thanx for the info

No problem.

12 yr active duty Marine here, I was a recruiter for 3yrs and your answer is unfortunately no. You have to be at bootcamp by 28. There is a waiver process but since we're down sizing I can guarantee you it will not get approved. But thx for holding a interest in the Marines.

Damn it what about the army navy air force or coast gaurd

When I joined I was 28 (Army). Entry standards may have changed at this point, but it's worth looking into.

Do u really need a ged/hs diploma

Edited by sergeantawesome: 9/5/2014 9:50:12 PMUnless you are one of a few people a year, you need to have a HS diploma to get in the Air Force

Yup, I joined during the build up to Iraq in 2003. If you had a GED back then, you needed some college credits as well.

Your best bet is army.
