This is a stress test and a last minute marketing strategy to get all the shares of the gaming community...Finished product is done....I mean really...beta less than 2months from release? C'mon

The alpha build was the honest alpha. I'm sure the beta build is an honest beta build. But you are right. Console beta test vs PC beta tests are 2 totally different things! It's a stress test! But I'm sure they will work on a patch to fix small issues found during the "beta" aimed towards release.

The alpha was in preparation for beta. That fact from bungie. Letter you got from alpha test.

And yes it was some form of an Alpha, hopefully from last year...

Why hopefully from last year?

The shadowing inside the base was horrendous...I know it's a small detail but it drove me crazy, and the survivability difference in pvp tank/hunter/lock it was off balance to begin with....and they have said that there was a Bungie closed Alpha at least going back to spring
-
Well, they are bungie. I'm sure they will get this game a close to "balanced" as possible. From what I've read, they aren't shooting for the PVP to be "perfectly balanced" but more a balance that supports teamwork and crazy fun. I know people see perfect balance as a level playing field. I'll have to wait to play before I judge though!

I gave up on halo pvp as soon as I figured out ea spawn was in the same place everytime and it was camped very well....the last time halo pvp was balanced was drunken LAN parties with the original....good times

It would be at best a pre-planned patch for release...isn't there a pre-load date for the consoles prior to 9-9?
