I like it. Ive used the same for fifteen years for every game I've played and making alts is a pain. Now i have to come up with a different name. Because the worst part is sometimes i like the alt better and they become my main. Then its twenty bucks to switch names. Sigh. I was so happy when i made my first alt on the alpha and it kept my name.

One of each class. Played each one up to the cap. I loved them all. I still don't know which will be my main. So which one do i name Voldaris? In other games i would actually lose a week trying to decide which class would be my main. This time Im set right out of the box. I understand your desire to have unique characters, but for people like me its a nightmare. I just want to use my one online identity. I don't have another one. And I've literally ran into real life friends on games like Guild Wars because they recognized my name. Its a cool feeling and just makes life easier. My next request would be one friends list. But i think that is already set by your PSN friends list. I get that people want different guilds for their characters so i hope they implement something that allows it. Guild wars 2 has a really cool system for guilds. You can join ten but you only 'represent' one at a time.

So here's the easy fix for you. Name them all Voldaris! Nobody is saying you can't name each character the same thing if that is what you want, but forcing that is a dumb ideas by Bungie.

Ive never had that option. And i don't think its possible, but i suppose they could add a hidden identifier. But then they have to only allow my account to do that.

If they give us the option of naming each character instead, and you could name each whatever you wanted, you could name all three the same thing if that's your wish.

Names have to be unique. Players are indentified by their names. I dont want to be Voldaris.1478 Voldaris.1479 and Voldaris.1480 I just want to be Voldaris.

And just to clarify what I mean. If they have your names above your character visible for other players it could read like this "Faceliss Man - Daemon - Warlock lvl 9"

To everyone else I could show up as Faceliss Man online and running around, but to me it could show as whatever I wanted the characters name to be. Everyone is making this way more difficult of a concept to understand than it needs be.

Anger tag? If you mean account. No it doesnt. You have to pick one. If you send me a guild invite what name would you use? I cant have two character names and an account name the same and use each as a unique identifier. And you can still have different names. Go make a free account. Also, i think the naming convention actually ties into the story [spoiler]when your guardian falls it turns into a blue glowy, not a dead guardian. You do not learn new skills and equipment. You remember them. Whether they were your memories or someone elses i dont know. This and other things ive heard leads me to believe that you are not the guardian. You are you. As they have said. Your guardian could just be a shell that youve borrowed, like a hermit crab. Or a demonic posession. If you cant remember your skills you probably dont even remember your name. [/spoiler] Plus you could always just roleplay multiple personalities :P

I can't wait to see how the story unfolds, and if it presents a valid reason for not being able to name each character believe me, I'll be back on this thread saying "ok I get it now" Right now it just doesn't sit well with me is all. I'm still getting the game and will spend hours upon hours playing, regardless of if I can name my characters or not.

I'm pretty stoked about the story, myself. I've never been intrigued by a story for an MMOFPS or MMORPG before. Usually action games or devoted single player RPGs have the only interesting stories. God of War or Final Fantasy VI, for instance. But yeah, I get you. I'm just trying to get you to see the benefits of a universal handle. Not trying to change your mind. There's a lot of roleplayers out there asking for more customization options, and it makes sense, I just feel this game is more of an FPS with RPG stuff added rather than the other way around. Which is one of the reasons I like it. MMORPGs trying to be an FPS never work. Well.. almost never.

For sure, I think this is going to be the first in a new genre. Defiance was like the low budget step brother of what Destiny could be and I liked that for the most part. You on xbone or ps4?

And Dude, think of it this way. If i see you in game Im gonna greet you and invite to my team just because i recognize you from the forums and you seem pretty level headed. Think about that. From the forums. What other game allows you earn a rep from the forums for your in game character. Someone is gonna be like "Hey! Whats up, faceless! Its me. V" And youre gonna feel like how i feel when one of my oldest friends sends me a whisper asking "Joe, is that you?" Hell yeah, its me! Lets kick some $&@!

For sure, if I see you on I'd do the same. I genuinely appreciate banter when it stays calm, and totally respect people that are able to do that, especially online when there is a somewhat sense of anonymity. I'm just saying both are possible, that's all. You see me as Faceliss Man - Daemon, or Faceliss Man - Zeke, and I see you as Voldaris - Voldaris no matter what. And problem solved
