CALLING ALL APLHA-PLAYERS AND VIDEO-WATCHERS!!!!!!

Hey everybody! So E3 is over, the Alpha is finished, and the Beta is weeks away. Since I neither went to E3 nor played the Alpha, I feel a little bit left out on the experience. So here we go... -To Alpha-players: what was your favorite moment while playing? Which class/race did you choose? What was your favorite/least favorite part of the build that Bungie had? What could be improved? -To "Video-watchers": What was your most memorable moment from a lifestream/posting/etc. that you saw (links to it would be nice, too, if possible)? Which class/race would YOU like to be when you get the chance to play? Are you planning on doing the Beta? Other questions could be added, but these are some of the ones on the top of my head. Go at it guys!

  • Watch out, long post. I had an Exo warlock, Awoken hunter, and human titan, the last of which I enjoyed playing the most. My single most memorable moment was during the raid/strike on Sepiks Prime's little hideout when I faced the Fallen walker-thingy (can't remember the name) with a full fireteam. It was the most difficult and intense fight that I got into during the Alpha, and actually taught me a bit about tactics in the game and how to best use each weapon type. I was disappointed at how easy the actual boss was in comparison, and it seems like something that'll be fleshed out more in the Beta or final release. My definite least favorite part of the game was actually the Crucible. It felt out of place in a mostly co-op game, and the balancing was bad at best. The learning curve was such that after a few games I found it more worth my time to explore the other classes (i.e. besides my then-maxed-out Titan) than to dig too deep into a very generic competitive mode. It definitely needs to be dramatically rebalanced and given better game types. For me, it was great to just be among a bunch of people who were excited for the game and finally being able to actually talk to new members of this growing community, especially considering that I'm an Xbox convert and someone who remembers the better parts of the Bungie-era Halo community. I was surprised at how many people there were that had also come over from 360, and it was refreshing (and surprising) to once again be able to play with people from the older Halo community outside of an organized event. I remember the weapons themselves better than most everything else. I settled right in to using the scout rifle, which is in fact a carbon copy of the DMR, its appearance notwithstanding. If you've read the weekly updates for the past few weeks, then you know about the Galahad-C auto rifle in some capacity, which says enough about how fun that thing was. The pulse rifle was disappointing, and felt like an inaccurate BR with a much smaller clip. Hand cannons were fun for headshots, but were otherwise completely inferior to a rifle, unlike the magnum and plasma pistol were in Halo. I noticed that the vast majority of people in the Alpha were friendly, competitive, and (most importantly) cooperative. For anyone new going into the Beta, the best thing you can do is to treat the game like a community. If and when you find other players, always work together and avoid being "that guy" who only does co-op to outdo his squadmates. Talk (or dance!) with people in the Tower, post on the forums, make/join B.net groups (or "clans," if you prefer), or just get your friends to join you once in a while. This is a series that'll carry on for 10 years, and I hope that we can build a community will last even longer than that.

      • I think I speak for most destiny players when I say that it is hard to choose what the best moments were. But if I had to choose it would be relaxing at the tower after missions

        • Best moments were trying to just run past the hordes of "??" Level enemies to explore unknown terrain. If it had more content and you handed me the alpha, I would have thought it was a finished game

          • My favorite moments of the Alpha: Exploring this brave new world. Seeing the dangers and the hidden treasures. Fighting my way through dungeons with a team. Completing missions given to me by the people of the tower. Also destroying and being destroyed in PVP. Taking all on with a nova bomb or sneaking a melee and stealing stealing energy.

The hairstyles are ugly on female characters(only one hairstyle belonged on a female),They need long hair styles like the Hime hairstyle. They are missing hair/eye colors like red, black e.t.c. Bungie really needs to improve their character customization hairstyles and colors if they are to make money and compete with the other company's games like (Dragon's Dogma,FFXIV e.t.c)

I played as two classes, The Warlock & The Titan. Both Awokens. Even though we were only able to upgrade a few skills I did not find one skill that I hated for either two. My favorite skill for the Warlock was that huge blast that disintegrates your enemies. For the Titan was a stronger melee. Dont know why but as a Titan I loved punching all my enemies. My most favorite part of the game was the live events. Seeing at least 6 or more random people working as a team on taking down enemies was a blast. That and seeing the sky darken right before those ships come in. That was awesome!

                  • Played as a male Exo Hunter. The class wasn't as I expected; the super is harder to use and less efficient than the other two classes IMO. Still, I'm pretty sure I will stick with a Hunter, and possibly make a second character (probably a Titan) to level up simultaneously. Gameplay was amazing; controls are intuitive and tight. Graphics are pretty darn good considering how large the game is. Favorite moment(s): pretty much everything. Played Patrol, Story, Strike, and Crucible equally and didn't dislike any. Patrol was definitely the funnest for casual playing... Strikes (and raids) will be my go-to because I like 'difficulty'. It was quite exhilarating to hit the alpha level cap and still feel the constant urge to play more... Seriously, I'm still feeling withdrawals after playing it 2 and a half weeks ago; I can't wait for the Beta (hoping it will stay on until 9/9 :-)

It was so funny to see 3 different persons with the same idea ^_^ But fo be honest, the first 2 days i was stunned by the Visuals and the Day Night circle! I played only the Warlock, i didn't have enough time to try the.other Classes! But the.Dancing is one of the best things i have seen a long time in any game! And my last trip to the Tower was aweyome too, 10ppl running and catching the ball! I am in work right now so it is hard to writw a link with my bs mobile, on my yt channel you can check some of my experience really well! TheSenningamer

As a alpha tester my favorite part about the game is u can go at your own pace and hold your own against multiple enemies if u play smart. That's important to a solo player like myself. And u still can just join random players and complete an event then go your own way after. The worst would happen to be the under powered and low ammo capacity hand cannon and the low clip capacity of the scout and pulse rifles. I found I was constantly reloading along with the speed generally being the same for all guns despite clip capacity. I played as a human Titan. My favorite of the three.

                                • I guess the thing I hated most was the emotes. Im kinda extreme when it comes to emotes in games. If ur gonna have em, actually put in some time into it and make the emotes diverse and plentiful and fun. And customizable. If ur gonna do a halfassd job, then dont put em in at all. I feel lik they coulda used the directional keys to better use than just point, wave, sit, and dance. Other than that, it was sweet. Usually I played explore mode, with some primary rifle, sniper rifle, and launcher getup. Had a blast, wanted more, got mad at the lvl cap cuz I got so many items that were inequitable. I can say, im a beast on a vehicle in pvp.

                                  • My favorite moment while playing...? I don't know of there was any one thing that stood out above the rest. Any time I saw Supers in action, really :P And I was an Awoken Hunter, and on the "extra" day we got, I played around with a Human Warlock. And if I had to pick a something for my least favorite thing, when the beacons would constantly give you missions that required you to go back the way you came, back and forth through the walls... Twas a tiny bit repetitive.

                                    • As an alpha player: The favorite moment I had was getting my first blue item drop but only finding out I was one level short. I chose the Titan class cause it fit my particular play style, while that may be a very generic answer, I found that class to be rather stealthy over the others. It all depends how you play it perhaps The least part that I found fun was some of the UI, further development with these systems to show more information more easily would increase the playability of the game. Something things you would have to move back and forth between load screens just to get a number was rather annoying rather than it just being on a "pause" screen or whatever. I'm not too sure as for what could be improved beside the basic tweaking of the usual systems since this was the alpha. We're missing so much on how a lot of these systems intertwine so it would be too soon to judge. But what I would incorporate would be a gear tier system that release slowly over the games life if that isn't already a mechanic, as well as integrate an Item level since the number behind the gear name has no real significance to it. ( head slot 2 isn't greater than head slot 1... Or vice versa)

                                      • My favorite moment was actually playing it, all of it. I heard about Destiny last E3, though "meh", didn't keep up with it, didn't really have any interest. Got an Alpha code and was about to give it away and thought I would try it out for myself, to see what all the hub bub was about. Whoa, from the "feel" of all the weapons, (minus the weak sauce throwing knife), watching a grande split into smaller pieces and track "the Moon Wizard" LOL, to using the supers on all 3 classes, was just pure enjoyment. Best moment, just exploring during the day, when the sky grew black, my ghost said "this could be interesting", and what I perceived as a meteor shower, was a sat fall (found this out later) and I alone (no other friends on at the time) tried to defend it... I failed, I was only a level 1 hunter at the time. But it was just the many "oh crapola", now what are you going to do!? moment that drew me in. Then finding out I could upgrade all green armor, weapon upgrades, finding a engram that ended up being a strange name sniper rifle, that was 106 to start, sweet, what else can I find!? I knew this game had me hook line and sinker. I pre order it right then.
