That's a good thing.

Edited by Failure4Life: 6/20/2014 5:29:24 PMLet's count the split decision here. For BXR'ing: Sly Instinct Poweezy Anabolic Ino Elrod Hubbard 4 Against: TheBritishLemon Failure4Life Big Brit Omarrchr Logfish111 Baconshelf Mediocre Dust DisturbedShifty 8 Double the people against it. I think it's safe to assume this trend will be followed in the actual game even if not to such a degree. A majority of those with a verbal opinion of it are against and and so it will hopefully be changed.
-
for bxr-ing here, not because of its role in the game but instead because it's an integral part of halo 2 and without it the experience wouldn't truly be an authentic throwback. i agree with your points in this thread though, so i guess you could put me down for both.
-
You can add me to the "against" list.

Edited by Fallen Hero: 6/20/2014 4:55:25 PMLike I care what 7 filthy casuals think. We'll let the numbers speak this Fall.
-
Edited by Failure4Life: 6/20/2014 4:59:14 PMFilthy casuals? Everyone in these forums is here because they have a history with Halo (Destiny kids excluded). Their "casualness" has no impact on their opinion and if the majority of players are "casuals" then the game WILL be changed to fit the masses. Ad Hominens are bad mmkay?
-
Edited by Fallen Hero: 6/20/2014 5:12:14 PMI know for a fact it won't be changed. If some kids are bad at it they can go play Halo 4. Casuals shouldn't have a say in gaming because they don't care, they play what ever. They don't put in the time and effort to understand the basic game mechanics. That's why you're all prolly colonels or less.

343 changed Halo: Reach when the outcries came I sure as hell would be surprised if they didn't again. A decade ago online patching practically didn't exist. That is the sole reason that BXR'ing was never patched.
-
Because reach was a casual mess with armor lock and excessive bloom. Why don't they patch Halo 2 before release if they wanted to? Why make it a selling point to include glitches just to fix them? That would literally be suicide after just regaining old veterans who left. The whole point they are releasing all 4 games is so everybody gets to play what they want. The competitive people get the Halo trilogy and the casuals get Halo 4.

Edited by Failure4Life: 6/20/2014 5:27:00 PMI obviously can't get though to you. maybe Achronos a BUNGIE EMPLOYEE can.
Posted by:Achronos "Technically," advocating cheating on these boards is a bannable offense - so why don't we pretend you're not trying to use that argument. Rules are "technical" as Recon said, and only work when properly interpreted by individuals charged with enforcing them (that would be us). Anyway, exploiting a bug equals cheating on Xbox Live. If you're playing in an MLG tournament, they define what is cheating there, and obviously the Xbox Live rules don't apply. But when you're in our sandbox, you play by our rules, and if you don't like them, well, it sucks to be you. And we don't ban anybody for BXRs or superjumping by the way - they are community served bans. The feedback system is the means by which players are voicing their opinion on this. And guess what, they agree with us. At least our reasoning is simple and well defined (it can be summed up in one sentence and has been in the Xbox Live Terms of use from day one). You, on the other, have presented no valid defense of exploiting glitches in the game other than by calling "illegitimate." I think you should look up the definition of that word, you can't call a rule "illegitimate" if it comes from the people who own the sandbox (Xbox Live). Ever wonder why backpack reloading was taken out of Halo 2, even though it was a widely used aspect of Halo 1 play? All those who said "because it was a bug" get a cookie. Now, let's take some bets... what happens to people who depend only on glitches to win games when Halo 3 comes out? Anybody have some guesses there?
The context here being that Achronos is showing that BXRing bans were served because the community wanted them. Against someone who advocated that BXRing wasn't cheating and is fair. Even the Halo 2 community you loved thought BXR'ing was bad for play. The entire thread from back there can be found here.
-
Too bad Achronos doesn't work at 343i then. 343i is literally advocating it by making it a selling point. Again it would be suicide to say "Hey we left all these glitches for you to do" then turn around and ban for it. If they didn't want people doing it 343 could have removed it and wouldn't make it a selling point.
-
Edited by Failure4Life: 6/20/2014 5:37:54 PMThey are making it a selling point as an authentic experience of Halo 2, not as a fair one. I just pictured two cones arguing with each other and I laughed... HARD.
-
My friends and I all have the same emblem and when we beat this guy on Reach he told us to go fuck each other with our cones.

Edited by Failure4Life: 6/20/2014 5:48:24 PMThat sounds much more interesting than my stories. Everyone when they get mad just say my name is accurate. It's so boring.
-
You're not missing much, most people don't talk in gamechat anymore.
-
not in this day and age, with modded controllers that can record button combos and repeat them at the press of a button. Trust me, it's going to be hell.
-
I don't care, I can handle it.
-
Nah, not with the quadshot, you're gonna be one hit killed with a br every five seconds, it'll be unplayable.
-
No it won't, I got strafe like Ali.
-
I forgot about that. Well... shit.
-
Ye, people want nostalgia back but they don't realize a lot has changed
-
Edited by Ahhsenberg: 6/20/2014 4:26:31 PMNot only has the tech changed, but so has the community. I highly doubt that the current community will have their mics in and be up for mass customs whenever someone's up for it. *sigh* the days of simple Halo 2 zombies, tower of power, and out of map exploring are long gone; at least like it used to be.
-
Out of mostly everyone I'm one of those people who will gladly join you on that.
-
Edited by Ahhsenberg: 6/20/2014 4:34:08 PMNice to know that there's still some people out there like that. It was sort of like that in Halo 3, but no where near like it was in Halo 2.
-
Dem death barriers in H3 but now I can explore and enjoy getting out of maps once again in better graphics and all. Whenever it comes out I'm going to enjoy doing so once again and will join those willing to do the same.
