I'd really like proximity chat as an option while the game loads other players into my map map. In the tower there can only be about twenty players and with a reduced proximity chat there the useless chatter would be sliced down substantially. It would basically force you to greet a player with a wave and get closer if they acknowledge you. It may not be so simple to code but I definitely believe it to be pretty necessary for a social game like this.
