Prox chat also fulfils a major social aspect of any game. Take planetside 2. Without Prox chat that game would have been so boring. You had your screamers, spammers, music players, casual conversations, pissed off guy, troll guy, the solicitor, the leader, the drunk guy, and many more. I mainly lurked but some of the most humorous moments I have had had been of me eavesdropping on conversations.

First thing my son asked why he tried Destiny was how do you talk to other players to setup a party and the answer was you can't in-game you could probably either invite them or message them via PSN. He thought that that sucked and I had to agree with him, it seems like a missing feature in the game not being able to interact with people you are near via voice as it's natural. One feature I would add to the prox. chat is a kind of karma system where if someone gest muted by some number of people in a period of time that they are muted in-game for everyone except for players in their fire team if they are in one. Over time their Karma would get better and they would be unmuted until they would get muted enough to go over the threshold again.

Very good feedback bud! Totally agree though it might need to be slightly moderated to make sure people are not just muting out of not wanting to hear anyone at all. Which is why I suggest the option to disable it if you don't want it on at all :)
