PC cable management

So I want to know (for all the people who have built their PC) how you managed the cables inside of your build? I know to use twist ties and such, but what about cables you didn't use? I'm building my PC very soon and I'm a first timer. (Yes I've asked for advice before, thanks lemon and greene) but I just wanna make sure I get everything in my build taken care of the right way.

  • I just hid them behind everything.

    • Depending on your case, if you have room behind the mother board tray, that's where all the cables usually go, used and unused in case you don't have a modular PSU. Here's my incredibly adequate cable management: http://imgur.com/k0JrGsN. All the mess is in the back, and the modular power supply helps a whole lot. Not all cases have ample cable management possibilities. But the basic idea is that you just cram them somewhere out of the line of sight of your fans, or if you have a side panel window, completely out of sight.

      • If you are just looking for cleanliness, then lots of zip ties and patients will go a long way. If you don't use some cables, stuff them away neatly behind the motherboard tray. Or be like me and sleeve all your cables and show them off.

      • Stuff them in a corner

        • I really didn't. I just made the extra long cables move in a serpentine patern on the backplate and tied them down with twist / zipties in the numerous holes designed for that very thing.
