Neither the Xbox One nor PS4 support 21:9, so yeah you'll be seeing the black bars.

I thought I would mind, but it actually lookos great. Doesn't the Xbox One support 4k, though?
-
Lol ? The XBO barely makes 1080p what makes you think it can output 4k ?
-
Because the HDMI allows for 4k resolutions? I got it confused.
-
The HDMI cable certainly can, but the Xbox one is no where close to outputting 4k resolution, I doubt we will even see that at the end of this gen console from the PS4 and it has the better hardware.
-
I know, that's why I said I was confused. High-end PC's have diffculty with 4k.
-
Definitely not for games, and it's doubtful that we'll see it for movies and video as well. What's important here is the actual aspect ratio, though: regardless of how many pixels there are, the Xbox One only supports 16:9 and 4:3, and your monitor is 21:9.
-
Yeah, I know the HDMI can support 4k. I was just confused for a second. It doesn't matter now, I'm still buying the monitor.
