GTAV sold what? 30+ million copies by February 2014? That was on two consoles?
Destiny is launching on four consoles.

And GTA is a very established IP. Destiny is not. No matter how good or well known Bungie is, the casuals who make up the bulk of game sales don't care about developers. They care about what they know and love - like GTA, CoD and FIFA.
