•
i say they should let people play pvp right when they start, that way they learn, if you wanna be good in pvp, play the friggin game, not just the pvp part :P
I certainly understand the sentiment and a reasonable person might get that, but let's be honest, there's a lot of unreasonable people out there that have been conditioned by games with great PvP but bad to marginal single player or co-op play. The games they've played have given them no reason to invest in anything beyond PvP. They're so focused on just PvP they'll rage quit out of frustration and declare the game "broken" before they'll even think about touching PvE content. Bungie is trying to build an immersive world that isn't focused on just one thing. For some of the unreasonable people out there, I think Bungie recognizes they might need a little "extra help" to get that.

  • if there are people that would rage quit because they can't win in pvp because of the simple fact that they didn't want to play the campaign, wouldn't they be the same people that would rage when they figure out they have to actually play the campaign part of the game before they can enter pvp?

This is true, but with this approach Bungie can set expectations now and make a case for why their approach to Destiny will be worth it. I'm sure some people will be vocal about their displeasure with delayed PvP but it beats people going in with the same ole' FPS expectations and then quitting the game.

  • I actually love the idea of playing PvE before PvP since people would get a taste of what the game is about before ignoring the whole story just to go against other people :3 hopefully it will start a trend of putting good story back into FPS games along with good PvP and not just focus on PvP... one can only hope, I would just find it entertaining to see how many people would rage quit from not having proper gear in PvP because they didn't wanna play the PvE parts of the game :P

  • I concur. I am tired of the incomprehensible blather of stories from Battlefield and COD. Give me a game with a story that has the quality of something like Game of Thrones, and I am in a world where I can become a character that is as legendary as Rob Stark. That's the kind of game I want to play.
